When pretty much this same thing happened with Emery under Orgeron, it was how bad the staff let Emery down.

There were a few young men who suffered at the hands of O's staff, so you can not compare the two.

Put the word out.
This is a great opportunity for a top notch transfer portal RB.

Emery’s time to take the lead back role and he’s continually screwing himself in the classroom. Get it together kid, it’s not that hard!

Josh Williams should be lead dog in this room. He’s proven himself on the field

I don’t think it can be stressed enough how easy it is to be academically eligible…

We’ve got 6 RBs on scholarship right now, I think it’d be hard to pull anybody from the portal we’d actually even want. Now maybe if a few defect after the spring, but I really don’t anticipate our room to be very inviting to RBs with limited eligibility because there don’t seem to be many carries available in ‘23. You know Jayden’s gonna get his too, and we actually threw the ball a lot more than I think the perception was last year.

You know I have defended Emory for the 9 years he has been here but you are right. Enough. You just cant use academics in this day and age.

Go get a stud Jr RB that wants to play.

This is going to continue being a sore subject. We need to go after someone unhappy after spring practice as a different option.

Think of all the morons who have been suspended for academics

Those people will be his boss one day

he’s [Emory] just missing out on reps

and with our numbers at RB already low for the spring, this academic suspension means missing a big chance to rove himself to the staff.

I agree with this assessment that he flashes but has not been consistent at all.
It is just of all our current backs I always thought he was going to be the back though that could pull a Justin Vincent (natty game).

I am not comparing the two staffs. Its obvious we are in a better place today than we were in 0’s last two years.

I am comparing how the same player in the same situation with the same self inflicted problem is perceived today compared to how he was perceived two years ago.

Can Emery read?? I mean legitimately lsu provides all the tutors and resources to where you can have the most BS degree and barely get by easily

It's best to just view any contribution from Emery as an added bonus, not something you count on from week to week.

The RB room doesn't make me happy. I already thought we needed one from the portal but even more so now.

Williams and Cain are fine depth pieces and contributors. Williams had some good stretches of ball last season and I think Cain was our leader in rush TD. But they're not top flight SEC backs. Goodwin can't stay on the field and Emery can't get his grades together.

I'd love for Emery to step up and grab lead back. He's got the most talent and you see flashes of it but it's hard to count on him week to week. I really felt like with Daniels skills, this offense could be lethal if you pair him with a high quality running back who has to be properly planned for. We didn't have that last year.
