Lol Websters year was fricking absolutely insane I’ll still always be disappointed in how he went in 2nd round of the draft then had such a long of not fill d with accolades nfl career.

I just don’t no what else the nfl GMA could look for that year in a cb. I guess it’s the same way I feel about Josh reed lol I kept thinking next year he is definitely going to be an all star and take the nfl by storm.

Oh well they will always be in the top of the college player rankings I will keep in my head

TM7 - 2011 just one of the best seasons by any defenders ever
Grant Delpit 2018- 5 picks, 5 Sacks, 9.5 TFL 74 tackles
Landry 2004 - 92 Tackles 3 sacks 4 picks
Eric Reid 2012 a 92 Tackle 1 TFL 2 Picks
and the last 3 are really close
Chase Jones 2009
Brandon Taylor 2011
Jamal Adams 2016

if you just look at the numbers.

now, give me Craig Steltz 2007 right after TM7

101 Tacklez 5 TFL Sack 6 Int and t those were for 153 yards.

Steltz averages 26.3 yards a pick return had 10 picks and 0 TDs wild stat.

Steltz got shite on so much but he absolutely came through looking like John lynch at times. He stick around the league for a while too. Severely underrated and underestimated

I think we can agree with this- Mathieu in 2011 had the most incredible season we've ever seen on defense... and then, there's a lot of debate as to which guy had the 2nd best, etc.
But nobody's going to top Honey Badger for a single year.

He said safety types. That’s why Peterson isn’t on there. He should have just put it in the title.

In his orginal post he did NOT include "Safety type"...check the time stamp.

While he was really good all 3 years, and no worse than 4th in his best year, I would say that Jamal Adams was the best, most consistently performing at a high level for an entire career. Not counting TM7 because he didn't really finish

While very different looking, I would say TM7 and Grant Delpit's sophomore years to be the best individual years. TM7 was all over the field making plays and Delpit was incredible as a true safety.

I was only ranking safety type players which way I don't have the obvious great CBs listed. Had a debate amongst friends about this and I wanted more opinions

So......

I've never seen a more dominant blitzer from the safety position than Landry... It was instant. Senior year he was first team all-American and led the team in solo tackles with 46.

He asked a question...and changed it after I answered.

He asked who was the best DB?

Am I wrong for listing the best one he left off the list?

Then changed it to "Safety types"?

His bad...not mine.
