Right now it's fun to act like we have 2 awesome QBs who will compete for the job. I hope both are good enough to play all year in some capacity. Reality and experience says one or both won't do very well.

It’s not common knowledge that Canada wants a dual threat, and everyone HAS NOT said that Narcisse can throw. In fact, most of what I’ve heard is that he’s very inaccurate.

A good coach will select the best players and tailor the scheme and play calls for who he starts.

I never got the feeling that Hurts is a cheat. He's always seemed an alright dude.

No matter the QB next season look for the Tigers to struggle. Not enough experience at the QB or RB position.

it's pretty obvious Canada would prefer a QB that is a threat on the ground and through the air.

Canada has a history of tailoring / tweaking his offense based upon the skill set of his starting QB. I think his preference is to score points and win football games and I bet he doesn't really care how that happens.

I really think both will play. Canada will have packages for Narcisse. I know rotating QBs is not ideal, but I think we see Brennan starting with designated series and situations for Narcisse.

THIS. I think both QB's will get the opportunity in the early games to take the job and run with it. Worst case scenario is that we rotate them regularly and make opposing defenses prepare for 2 different skill sets. That will be even more with one being right-handed and the other left-handed.

THIS!!
Canada wants to score early and often.. Canada wants to run the “hurry up” whenever he can and he wants to throw the crap out of the ball.. he plans to throw the ball 35-40 times a game next year. You tell me which QB skill set this favors.. better yet which QB has already been there and done that? If Brennan accomplishes 70% of what he did in HS he will be the best there ever was at LSU!

Maybe.. I am just trying to use football logic and put the pieces together to figure out next year just like everybody else.

No your trying to act like you know what Canada is thinking.

At this point he may not even be here next year.

I remember rantards saying how we would throw 40 times a game this year. How's that working out?

Narcisse is now 3 years removed from playing any meaningful football. He has 2 reconstructed knees.

The kid has missed 3 very important developmental years. I find it hard tho believe he won't be rusty as hell, and understandably so. If he gives us a better chance at winning then so be it. I trust the coaches who get paid millions and actually get to see them play to make those decisions.

This may be a stupid question, but something that I have thought about. I have no idea what the Lindsay Scott Jr situation is, but is it possible his transfer was a mutual decision by both parties to allow him to go develop and play at the JUCO level with the intention of bringing him back? I know this would be unorthodox, but my understanding is that he has 3 years of eligibility left.

You may be right but you have to factor in Etling being a pro style an so the backup should be a pro style making it easier to have 2 ready to play.
Regardless I am looking forward to next season and hope to see QB help us take the next step.

Sending Scott to JUCO is a very interesting take. It seems like it would be rolling the dice and I'm not totally sure why the coaches wouldn't want him to learn their system.

Honestly have no clue of what will happen. I'm a Coach O fan, but he has been a contradiction this season when it comes to the offense. He said he wanted the spread offense, we got the shifty pro-style. He said it would be a open competition in the spring, and from a few posters on the rant who were at scrimmages it wasn't. He said he wouldn't mess with the offense, he has. He wants to give Brennan reps for game experience but when LSU had leads in the 4th, he still had Etling in the game. With that being said, whoever O decides he wants to play next year at qb, I think both qb's will better prepared and more productive in year 2 of Canada's offense.
