Even if the coaches determine that someone else is better? Would you still want Brennan then?

If so, can you explain why?

I take dispute with this comment, esp the "many other programs" comment. most of the programs I see with true freshmen qb's struggle. I can give lots of examples. this is particularly true in the SEC. Hurst at bama is an exception but that's mostly because the rest of his team is so good and he is a runner of the first degree. Fromme at Georgia has a superior running game and, as auburn proved, that's about it.

almost all SUCCESSFUL teams have upper class QB's.

Can you name the freshmen QBs that missed basically their entire junior and senior season in HS and got significant playing time as true freshmen in college?

They also decided very early on that Narcisse would take the redshirt and use this season to recover after two knee surgeries. I've never taken their making Brennan the backup as a sign that they prefer him over Narcisse.

This guy gets it.

I didn't know he held offers from Ole Miss and Cal and Brennan may very well be the starter next year. I just don't think it's guaranteed like many on here do.

We need them both to be at top form. Brennan has upside as he learns what color jersey we are wearing. Narcise's feet are needed to beat Bama but he will always be only one hit from the end of his career.

You should apply for the OC position if Canada leaves because you clearly know more.

I really think both will play. Canada will have packages for Narcisse. I know rotating QBs is not ideal, but I think we see Brennan starting with designated series and situations for Narcisse.

Hopefully this is what we see.

How big is St James and what kind of competition do they play? Seems like most of Lowell's highlights are of him running and not throwing it. Hard to determine if he's a decent passer or not.

Oh for sure, the backup whoever it may be will definitely be the better of the 2.

I don’t give a flying pile of donkey shite who the starter is as long as we get first downs to keep our defense fresh and fast. Complete the wife was open pass when it’s there.

If u think O is anywhere close to being comfortable with Brennan at QB, you haven’t been paying attention. Somebody will have to earn the job and develop trust.

Unfortunately there will always be drama. I can see playing time modified based on who has the hot hand and I can even see Canada choosing his QB based on which defense he is attacking.

Whether it works or not be prepared for the analysts, press and fans to turn it into drama.

what difference does it make? if they are both serviceable, the emphasis going forward is on recruiting and developing OL and DL in order to get back to dominant LSU Football. My nod goes to Brennan but I bet we use both...

BS...

We had Bama beat this year in Tuscaloosa with just an ACCURATE QB. We had them beat in BR in 2012 (Mett) and 2014 (Jennings). And we potentially had them beat in 2016 in BR with a QB not scared by the bright lights.

To make the point a DT QB is not necessary to beat Bama.

Reading context.

It certainly helps to have a QB who has mobility & pocket awareness. Chad Kelly, Manziel,Knight,Watson,Wallace,Newton & Jones all had that.

LSU masked a lot of it's flaws this season with Jet sweeps and other gimmicks to deal with BAMA's front 7 (Which we can both agree wasn't one of BAMA's best front 7's in recent history). I agree with you that LSU is QB away from really challenging Alabama. I'm still a bit skeptical if Brennan is the dude who can do it.
