Casual college football fans should be in a STATE OF SHOCK when they see LSU wearing ANYTHING other than G/W/G.
We should only wear anything else when forced to by our opponent.
If anyone's opposed to this, let's get rid of the double goal post and Tiger Stadium field markings every 5 yards while we're at it.
You don't see the New York Yankees wearing alternate city connect Friday night uniforms. Nor do they have player's names on the back of the jerseys either.
We're LSU dammit, and we should honor and keep most of our traditions.
We should only wear anything else when forced to by our opponent.

It’s not an alternate uniform. It’s the home jersey. It’s LSU’s Colors. So no fan should ever wear purple at a home game?

This is a classic case of correlation not equating to causation.

Just don’t wear the all whites. Feel like every time LSU has worn that combo they’ve gotten their asses handed to them. I remember Ole Miss beating the shite out of LSU wearing that combo in 2015 I believe and then Tennessee beats LSU like a red headed step child in 2022 in that same combo. Feel like I’m forgetting more bad performances in the all whites.

Bill Arnsbarger won two SEC Titles in that span. It wasn't bad coaching, the jerseys really matter.

It's specifically the gold/purple/gold combination that's cursed. The more benign white/purple/white combination has no such stigma; this style should be pegged as LSU's official alternate and the unlucky G/P/G should be retired.

Curley Hallman had a woeful 9-16 record AT HOME during his four seasons at LSU. And that included only five wins in four seasons at home vs SEC opponents: Vandy in 1991, Miss. St in 1992, Ole Miss in 1993 and Miss. St and Kentucky in 1994.
And Curley was a winner before he came to LSU. He was the real "guinea pig" in the era of Purple Poison.

Archer won the second in a tie with Auburn.
My point still stands though: During the Purple Era LSU had 1 top 10 finish (not even a year they won the SEC. Archer's first year) and won only 1 bowl game (Archer's first year again).
12 seasons. 7 of that 12 were losing records.
First season wearing the whites at home resulted in LSU winning a National Championship.
The first season LSU was allowed to wear the whites at home again resulted in a winning season and a bowl win. The next 2 seasons resulted in sharing the Western Division title twice and bowl wins.
And not a single bad coach hired since the whites returned. 3 consecutive coaches won a NC, and the fourth hire wasn't a bad coach (the guy won a lot of games), he was a disappointing hire.
No other team can make that claim. LSU is the only school to have 3 consecutive coaches win a NC.
I reiterate this fact as well:
White Jerseys worn at home: 55 years with 6 losing seasons.
Purple Jerseys worn at home: 12 years with 7 losing seasons.
ETA: adding some support to this line of evidence - 1989-1994 was the first time LSU had 3 losing seasons in a row since 1954-1956. Those are the only two losing streaks of the modern era (you have to go back to pre-SEC to find the only other streak).
1957 was a .500 year.
LSU wore Purple at home during those streaks.
The implementation of wearing white jerseys at home resulted in both of those streaks ending and LSU having their first winning season in years. 1958 and 1995.

I don’t believe in curses, but there is an impact during day games. There’s a reason LSU and the Dallas Cowboys are the two teams that wear white jerseys at home and the original reason had nothing to do with curses or tradition, but the extreme Louisiana and Texas heat.
ETA: I realize the Cowboys have played in a dome for a long time, but in 1960 when they were founded, they played in the Cotton Bowl.

I’m in my upper. 50’s and I’ve ALWAYS felt the purple jerseys were bad luck
