Based upon these rankings, if LSU were to start 4-0, they would be a lock to be top 4 or 5 by week 5. Playing #23 Clemson, #10 Ole Miss, and #8 Aggie. No one would even have close to the resume at the beginning of October

Agreed. Just win and these things sort themselves out

13 is about where I expected LSU to be.
If LSU wins September, will they bump them into Top 4 or sit them at 6 and said Clemson, Ole Miss and A&M were ranked too high to start year.

So LSU has six SEC teams ranked higher and they play four of them. We’ll see how than pans out.

Actually happy with where we came in at.
Mizzou might be the surprise entry for me....must be riding the Austin Simmons train and Coaches must be confident Hardy is going to be healthy and play this year...I hope he plays because he is GOOOOOD and maybe Mizzou could be the team that upsets a bunch of folks in the SEC playing spoiler with a Healthy Hardy and depending on how Austin Simmons does.

7 th in the SEC sounds about right.

main thing I wanted to see was Clemson sneak into the rankings. Get a little ranked juice week 1. Not that it matters, of course, but makes things feel a little more fun for sure.

Awesome! This is my favorite starting rank.

LSU is never going to have an easy schedule.
I will say, 4 of those 6 are at home, and I’d much rather go to Tennessee than any of those other places. Ole Miss honestly could be played anywhere and it wouldn’t make much of a difference. So the home/away dynamic is pretty significantly in our favor.

That is a perfect place to be to start the season.

Fair tbh. Lot of talent but we gotta go prove it

13 is a bad number. Bama does even have a qb and OM doesn't have a coach. 10 or 11 would be more accurate.

The amount of downvotes you got shows how little people pay attention to history.

Ole Miss and tamu won’t even be ranked to end the season
Missouri at 25 is major disrespect.

23. Clemson
This is totally only due to their brand name and HC.
No reason they should be in the top 25

This is a fair ranking although there is absolutely no reason for Texas Tech to be above us. There are probably only 5-6 teams who would be favored over us on a neutral field and those don't include Bama or Ole Miss
Posted on 8/5/26 at 9:18 am to Tiger2tiga
So the coaches pick LSU 6th in the SEC. Implies an 8/9 wins and no playoff berth

I’ll give you om but I’m not doing that bama thing again.
Until LSU proves they can consistently beat Bama regardless of who’s coaching either team, I’m not buying it. We haven’t earned that yet.

That result wouldn’t be unexpected
