Portnoy is a Ferengi tool used to move the line.

Many key defensive players likely out for lsu and no offensive pulse. Vandy coaching is simply better outside of Blake baker. Why is this shocking?

None of this is true.

This board is massively overrating Vandy

Offense is what people judge teams on. Vandy's has inflated stats due to opponents and LSU's has been terrible.

That said, I don't think the country understands how good LSU's defense is because it's been overshadowed by how bad the offense has been.

My take on it is if LSU can limit 3&outs and control the clock then we will win. Our defense will win us games as long we have a pulse on offense

Bad turnover luck?! This pathetic offense could not score a TD when gifted the ball inside the SC 20. They are awful, the lot of them. Further, I see no evidence of the Burger King doing anything about it. lol

Some of you need to take the purple and gold glasses off. An unbiased bettor is looking at this game and thinking:

- Vandy has a 19th year senior QB
- Vandy is at home
- 11 am game
- Vandy coming off a bye week
- Clark Lea coached under BK and has had 2 weeks to prepare his team knowing exactly what BK is going to try to do
- LSU's offense has been putrid
- LSU's best overall defensive player AND their best defensive lineman are both possibly out

It's pretty easy to see why people are throwing money on Vandy.

Ultimately, none of this amounts to a hill of beans when it comes to the actual game.

Tons of money on Vandy. Our offense is inept, until shown otherwise you will see this.

Even if the offense doesn’t improve, they have scored 17-20 in every P4 game against better defenses than Vanderbilt. Only Ole Miss has scored more than 10. Vandy, on the other hand, hasn’t faced a defense of LSU’s caliber. They only managed 333 yards against Bama and 328 against SC and only scored 14 against Bama. Why is the focus so much on LSU’s offense and not why anyone would expect Vandy to score more than 10-14 points on LSU’s defense? That’s not even contemplating the 65 points Vandy has given up in its last 2 games.

smart bet

Being as pessimistic as possible, this is a coin flip. There's nothing "smart" about betting almost 1/4 mil on this game on either Vandy or LSU.

Uhh, the smart money is on Vandy, big guy. And if you aren’t aware of this, I wouldn’t be betting the game.

Great post. The concern is obviously the offense scoring more than 20, which they haven’t against a P4 squad yet.

Playing the IF game, LSU should have scored more than 20 in all 4 games. Bad call and coaching cost LSU 10 pts against Clemson; kneel down at the 5 cost points against UF; Awful INT in redzone and missed 2pt conversion against OM; 2 turnovers at the 1 against USCe.

The problem here is that LSU consistently leaves points on the board. If that’s not corrected, you will get beat if/when the defense is only good and not great (Ole Miss).

Three awful turnovers is maintaining possession? News to me.
