Most don't even realize how good of a pitcher Cabrera was before LSU. He was effective even when he pitched in scrimmages when he got here. Lights out as he was in high school? No. But, I'll take his skill and pedigree in spots this year. I do agree that he needs to throw some bullpens for emergency/situational/do or die spots. I wouldn't suggest overthrowing him when you have RHs with good, running changeups to lefties...yet.

Ok. Only having 1 LHP is definitely an issue this day and age.

I have no clue what you are talking about Lunatik. I haven’t responded to one of your posts in months from what I can remember

don't think you hate on anything. That was the constructive criticism. You tend to call people out for doing the same things that you are doing. You lack self awareness and tend to be hypocritical in this area.

What do I call people out for that I do? You keep responding with this cryptic passive aggressive shite. What is so important here that you had to derail this thread with this stuff? Say it or don’t but I can’t read your mind

If you haven't gotten it by now you either aren't going to or you're purposely acting dumb. I flat out said you like to call people haters in football threads for saying a lot of the same things you're saying here. It was even more so in the Waters threads. I wasn't being cryptic at all.

You are just looking to pick a fight if you think me constructively criticizing something based on hard data is the same as hating on everything related to the coach you hate. Whatever you want to think my man. You’re obviously being fueled by you butthurt here

Mangum at State started 5 games as a pitcher the season they had all the pitching injuries

I have been overly complimentary of Coach O season and even last off season. You said it yourself...

I never said that at all. Ive praised TigerLunatik all offseason for being able to see the whole picture. He leans towards O not being the answer, but at least he has been objective. Honestly the only one off the top of my head that showed any kind of restraint to jump off the cliff.

I've been WAY more pro Orgeron since the season started. So, how is it that I was so objective September 3rd, but now I hate on everything related to the man?

Dude, seriously, let it go. I’m not talking specifically about “you”. You keep comparing me to “people I hate on”. When I say “you” I’m talking about them.

As for this screen shot, I once respected your neutrality but eventually you proved that to be a guise. You would come out & say it but you’re too worried about being liked and playing the fence. Seriously I don’t give a shite about any of this stuff & you shouldn’t either.

Tulane had a good bit of 2 way player in their program back in the years 2000s.

The problem with preparing Cabrera to pitch just so you can use him to match up against a left handed batter or two is that you lose the DH. Now, late in the game where it’s unlikely a pitcher throws more than a couple of outs or an inning it may not matter, but this would certainly be a consideration.

Or he could pitch one of the 12 right handers who are way better at pitching than Cabrera...

Cabrera was actually widely regarded as a good pitcher coming out of high school and pitched some last year. He just happens to be much better at other things.

I'm not sure I necessarily want him pitching this year but also not sure I'd go as far to say that we have 12 RHPs better than him.

his final game at John Curtis, he was the starting pitcher and lost in the playoffs to Chalmette, which pissed Cade Beloso off so much his family moved to St. Bernard Parish and chose John Curtis

No, one batter will not decide the season. Are you high?

Should’ve been using him situationally all year. I saw him pitch plenty in high school he would’ve been effective at the college level no doubt. Too late now though Pawl don’t play that shite....
