Silly point. There were a lot of times in the game yesterday in which a left handed hitter was at the plate with runners on. How would Mainieri know in which situation to insert his one left handed below average pitcher? AFTER the three run homer it becomes obvious.

Late in a game when it gets compressed, things like this are easily sorted out. Such as, when its the 7th inning and the tying run comes to the plate and you have one of your worst bullpen guys in the game to face him.
And this team should have 3-4 LHP at minimum . Cabrera is just a sub-topic of that epic fail.

The lack of lefties is a failure but it is what it is at this point in the season. Would rather roll with the righties we have than throw a lefty who hadn’t thrown an inning this year.

How do you make the assumption that he is one of our worst bullpen guys? did you watch the Regional? He last outing was very good and probably looked the best he's looked all season

Yea i agree at this moment in time. This post was from Feburary tho. Would be irresponsible to throw him out there right now.

he sure does know what hes doing. Bringing in Veitmeir at that time yesterday told me everything i needed to know about the ole ball coach.
