Jay is going to keep Schmidt and tell the rest of the staff to look elsewhere.
None of the rest, save for maybe 1 or 2, can pitch at this level. They are not LSU or SEC caliber arms. It will be a complete overhaul. Like Skip said, “I don’t blame you, I blame me for recruiting you.”

Sucks but we move on.

This statement alone lets us know your username is total bullshite

Evans, Moore, Sheerin (if he doesn’t hit the draft), Williams, Paz, Theo and Ricken will all be back at minimum. Jay has already said to expect them to prioritize developing the freshmen. They aren’t being shown the door

I also think they will try one more time with Rizy. And one of Garcia and Lach may be retained, as well.

I agree, many of these guys aren’t going anywhere.

I kinda hope Rizy goes…

Maybe he’ll come back and make me eat my words.

Could you please explain how some of those arms were SEC caliber last year, but they somehow have less talent this year and need to be processed?

This team has issues, but the talent level is better than their performance. Development did not happen this year. If it were 1-2 guys that fell off, your argument would hold water. But of the 10 returning pitchers, we have two that look better than they did before. That a program-wide failure. Jay will fix it, but I think it's hilarious that we had guys contribute to a natty, but the following year their stats plummet, and the talent level gets the blame.

Not happening bud. You can’t afford to clear the entire house. You won’t get that many hs guys and the portal won’t be there. The portal is about to slow down because the 5 for 5.

He could leave on his own looking for a fresh start and new approach. I just don’t think the coaching staff will force him out. If the pitching staff is bolstered and more consistent next year, then having him wouldn’t be an issue, even if he can’t pull it together and consistently pitch at his peak talent level.

Unless the staff just thinks he is beyond help/development, I don’t think they will force him out.

I said early in the season that JJ had created a whole lot of mental anxiety with this staff... seems like none of them knew their role on the team, never knew if JJ's quick hook would get them, if they would be pulled after pitching to 1-2 batters, etc. Sure, there were a couple injuries, and unfortunately, no one had the will to step up, simply because they weren't mentally ready. Take it from an old coach... The mental aspect of playing any sport plays a big part in the physical aspect.

Agreed but the quick hook also sets them up to deal with pressure in the long run. It’s a lot easier to pitch when you are shoving and have a lead. You gotta perform under immense pressure too. That has to start somewhere. Working on a very tight leash will create that pressure. Those with the mental and testicular fortitude to perform, will.

You're are insane if you think Jay is going to willingly tell guys like Evans to hit the road.

If they leave on their own? That's a different story. I seriously doubt Jay is going to tell his entire freshman pitching class to hit the road alongside vets like Sheerin or Evans.

What a ridiculous post and even worse if you thought anyone would believe this.

Totally agree, I think this is where a lot of this comes from...they are all pressing to impress....to not get pulled and end up pooping on the mound. Evans needs to go back to the pen - he is NOT a Friday nite guy. CJJ is messing with his stock $$$, let him operate in his true capabilities.

Get a stud Friday nite guy out of the portal and be done with it!

I'm more interested to see what Johnson does with Yeskie. Does he make a change there or not? Starters have been good. Bullpen has not. More command issues along with some questionable pitch calling.
