Pig Cage did not want to leave LSU per Cullotta interview

Cliffs:
Cage said he is a Louisiana guy and LSU was his dream school. Tyrann was his favorite player of all time (also shouted out Jamal Adams).
He played through a knee injury just to be able to play against bama.
He wasn't on scholarship at LSU and (apparently) wasn't going to have a shot at meaningful playing time.
He spoke highly of coach Kelly and staff, wouldn't say a bad thing about LSU.
He's looking for a place where he can showcase his skillset and try to make the league. He would like to stay on the big stage in the SEC, but is looking for an FBS opportunity to show what he can do.
He really wanted that place to be at LSU.
Wishing this young man all of the best (as long as he isn't lined up against the P&G).

Arkansas should take him just for the name Pig. Epic NIL possibilities. Would also reunite with McGlothern

Can't he go down to like, SLU or something, play year, and come back if he plays lights out? Or is he out of eligibility after a year?
Edit: I know he transferred up to LSU, but didn't know if the same rules apply to walk ons.

should have stuck it out and competed. he quit WAY too early in the process.

If he's paying out of pocket to be on a team that he can't make, I don't necessarily blame him for "quitting". Not sure if he had TOPS available. College isn't as affordable as it used to be.

This.
Has a ton of eligibility left.

Seems like a great opportunity for the folks over at Walkons to sweep in with a NIL scholarship deal for a Walk on in need.

Shame on the guys who shite on him yesterday.

Good luck but also so what
You don’t know if you will ever play unless you stick it out.
There will be other players that the old staff thought were good enough that will be passed over by players that the new regime likes.

Come on up here and play at Tech or ULM. We’d love to have a kid with that character.

That was my 1st thought but if he just got handed a tuition bill and other places are offering him full rides, it's hard to blame him. I wished it worked out for him here but hopefully he lands somewhere that he can play.

Kid is trying to make NFL money for his family. I'm not going to act like I'm best friends with the guy, but I know him and his family and he's trying to get them into a better situation.

For him to leave the team after only a few practices means he could tell he was pretty far down the depth chart. Doesn't mean you can't work your way up over the rest of spring and fall camp.. but when you know.. you know.
Silver lining for LSU fans is that this may mean the team overall is already better than it was in the bowl game and they are going to look better this fall.
I give it two years and LSU is back in the running for SEC championship.
Good luck wherever he lands.

Some of you guys have set the bar so low for Brian Kelly it is almost like you expect him to be underwhelming.
Of course we are better than the bowl game. We actually have scholarship QB's now.

So Kelly pulled his scholarship? Didn’t he have one last season?

Upvote for OP and for Cage. Good luck to that young man.

Well that stinks. That’s the kind of kids we need on this team. But I trust the staff’s evaluation. Wish him nothing but the best

Yeah it really just feels like he got stuck in between a coaching change. I have no hard feelings at all towards him and wish him the best.
