AU, OM, UTx. I don't see how LSU isn't forced into being paired with UTx or A&M and A&M doesn't do much for me.

Bama has played MSU more than any other SEC team, sure they would like to keep that easy W. Would be interesting if UGA and Bama each retained UTn as a permanent.

So much delusion in this thread about not wanting Texas A&M.

It doesn't matter what LSU fans want: We are getting Texas A&M. If they end up doing an 8 game schedule with 1 permanent rival and 7 rotating rivals, we're going to get Texas A&M. If they go with 4 pods, we will be in Texas A&M's pod.

For the other two, I think we will get Ole Miss and Arkansas.

If Texas/Texas A&M moves back to Thanksgiving, the LSU Arkansas game will likely move back to that weekend (and Mizzou would play Oklahoma).

There is no way LSU gets matched up with Alabama or Auburn: Their rivalries are already pretty set. Bama's third will be either Vandy or State; not sure who Auburn's third will be, but it won't be us.

If the SEC is serious about the Haves/Have-nots split, then we would likely end up with Florida instead of Arkansas (or maybe even Oklahoma, which the conference may not really know what to do with).

But, you might as well stop dreaming; LSU will play Texas A&M every year.

LSU is NOT getting two bottom half of the conference teams as permanent opponents and especially not if A&M is the third opponent. It’s almost certainly A&M and Ole Miss with the third team being Alabama, Florida or Oklahoma. Arkansas is getting Texas and two bottom half teams. There’s no room for LSU in their permanent pairings.

Texas A&M, Florida, and Ole Miss will be LSU’s 3 permanent opponents — book it.

I'm going pure geographical, which I think is the only fair way to do it.

Arkansas, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

Honest question, this is just speculation, right? That’s cool if so.

But is there any plan we know about for schedule rotation?

Florida, Texas A&M, Ole Miss

I want Bama, Ole Miss and either UF/AU

Yea looking back at my post I'd probably swap UF for A&M I'd be fine with either though even if others disagree.

Anybody hoping for Auburn is gonna be disappointed though. There is an 0% chance the Auburn gets stuck with Bama, UGA, and LSU as their 3 permanent opponents.

I do think it's unlikely but I think there's an outside chance the SEC decides Tennessee who has sucked for 15+ years(not last year obviously) is a have not and Bama would also get AUB/LSU as haves

Scheduling the three perms is not going to be easy. The idea that you can divide up the 16 teams into "contenders" and not contenders in fball is ludicrous. On which side of that line do teams like Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Texas go? The new SEC does NOT divide up easily into 2 groups for scheduling.

Most anticipated game of year, that’s why. You want Vanderbilt?

I don’t want to play Bama every year and you think that means I want to permanently replace them with Vanderbilt?

I like playing Alabama, Auburn, and Florida every year. May not be the best for us winning a title, but if we are deserving and win out vs those three then generally no one can stop us.

While I agree that picking who the 8th team should be is challenging, the top 7 are not that difficult to identify. They are the 7 schools with NCs since 2000. It is somewhat arbitrary who to consider as the 8th team, but for the sake of the old SWC/Big 12 rivalries and for geographic balance, it makes the most sense to slot A&M into that spot. That allows Texas to have OU and A&M and A&M to have LSU and Texas. It balances the 8 into 4 in the West and 4 in the East (with the Alabama schools more to the Eastern side now).

Alabama, Ole Miss, Florida.

Ole Miss, Florida, Auburn, Alabama are our rivals, Florida is our true evenly matched rival, the series is tied 33-33 currently. I don’t want any Texas team or Arkansas.

IF the SEC is interested in an equitable schedule, it will be a systematic rotation without permanent opponents. It will be so easy to schedule the championship game participants if not.

TAMU like the rest of the little XII refugees is not an SEC school. None of them ever will be so far as I am concerned.

Stankey was just on Finebaum and said that the pods are pretty much off the table and the league will go with either 8 or 9 games with either two divisions or one. It will be determined at the spring meetings.
