good strategy that LSU incorporated for 38 years very successfully.
The current format has been in place since 1999? anything before that is not relevant.

The only wrong answer is the dipshits that want to pitch Noot in one of the first two games
Did you watch LSU baseball before Jay Johnson? Because this is what would have happened any other season.
Fricking dipshit

No it isn't. Teams will often flip their #1 and #2 which I was all for, but you rarely see coaches dumb enough to start their #3 in one of the first two games. The first 2 are way more consequential and usually a 4 seed with their ace is tougher to beat than a 2 or 3 seed with their #4. Lose the first 1 and you have to win 4 straight. Lose the 2nd one and you have to win 3 straight. Lose the 3rd one and you just get a rematch and can bring back your G1 starter if necessary

Ross started game one vs Southern in 2009. Followed it up with Renaudo vs Baylor and Coleman vs Minnesota. What a fun time that was!

So, not even 1/3 into the game.

And now they’re up 6-2 about to put it away. STFU

Fair enough. In 2009 I was still a young buck and it was a different era. I guess if you go back far enough you can find anything. I'm almost always a fan of flipping #1 and #2 in a regional but never a fan of going down to #3 in one of the first two games for the reasons stated above

Any update? OP, did Arky lose and prove you right?

Yeah, Ross led the team in starts. We don’t have a #3 like that and haven’t since 2009
