This fanbase doesn't seem to realize it's possible to have a middle ground belief on BK.
I think he's a good coach and it's a risky move to get rid of him. It's going to be hard to get someone who is definitely better.
At the same time, I question some of his moves and understand not making the playoffs this season would be an abject failure.
Also, this constant crap about his salary is retarded, he's like the 8th or 9th highest paid coach at this point and he barely makes more than Drinkwitz, Kiffin, and Mark Stoops.
Some folks here are living in the past and don't realize the CFB head coach market has risen a great deal.

How much would it take to get Eli Drinkwitz to LSU? Even he would get the fanbase and program more excited
Posted on 10/12/25 at 8:05 pm to Panthera Tigris
Please god take Kelly

I begged Michigan to take Les miles off our hands for years, big ten still owes us.

Brian Kelly knows he has quite literally zero chance of winning the national championship at Penn State.
He has a chance of winning it here, even if it's a small chance.

Yikes.

I wouldn't be upset if Blake Baker got promoted to Head Coach.

Give it a week and revisit a week from today to see if LSU lost to Vandy. If they do, oh boy watch out on the melt on here.

Here’s my problem with Kelly:
1. He won’t Bench Nuss!
2. He won’t fire Solan.
3. He points blame in every direction but himself!

So who was our white whale? Lincoln Riley? He’d be doing no better than Kelly is. Aranda? That would have been a disaster. Napier? An even bigger disaster. Franklin? He just got fired. Mel Tucker? Sheesh. LSU made the best hire they could at the time. Proof is in the pudding on the other candidates considered.
Great post.
We’re in be careful what you wish for territory. We all saw what happened when we finally got rid of Les only for that bozo Alleva to get swindled into the O propaganda. I think BK is grating on all of us but who *realistically* can we (or could’ve) hired that would be doing better?
I don’t really see any outstanding hotshot up and comers and in this day in age it’s going to be even tougher to pull an established veteran coach from a long term job.

Kelly has burned a lot of goodwill with the fans over the past two years.
There are multiple reasons he has never won a CFP, BCS national championship.
He’s always had excuses, and neve had an offense like he had at LSU with Daniels. Kind of ironic that Denbrock goes back to ND and has that offense firing like crazy. People also forget what he did at Cincy with Luke Fickell as head coach. Look at Wisky now under Fickell.
Denbrock is the common denominator and BK wanted him to share duties with Sloan over a recruit we already are having to pay $5 million to get.
BK likely never wins anything of meaning at LSU again and we will waste several seasons in mediocrity.
Baker would be a risk but has shown great potential and I don’t think anyone would complain. He has the defensive scheming ability and is an amazing recruiter, unlike Aranda who hated recruiting and would have limited him as a head coach here.
In the end, nothing Kelly has done gives me belief he will win a championship at LSU and I am not sure he ever makes a playoff while here.

perfect example of the problem with the idiocy of the ADs and the nepotistic coaching game, Franklin is fired for shitty performance, Kelly on the hot seat for the same, and people are lining up to hire them, hell,Petrino back at ar-kansas?? wtf???

They aren't hiring Kelly. Cignetti, Rhule and Elko, in no particular order, are higher on their list. Probably others.

Jesus Christ. He's not even a good coordinator.

There are some. Coaches of Ga Tech, USF, Tulane, SMU, Vandy are all young up and comers that I'd like to see LSU hire.
And maybe Blake Baker HC with Kyle Williams as DC could be great?

I would hope that Penn St hires Elko…I think he is an extremely underrated coach and I would love to see Aggie weakened
If they make a run at Elko, aTm will likely counter with an offer which would make Elko the highest paid coach in college football. They have more money than they know what to do with and given the little bit of success he’s had, they’d do anything to keep him in College Station.
That said, nothing would make me happier than seeing the Aggies melt if he left. I can’t stand those fricking queers.
