He did, and there wasn’t a better time to switch to it than with the roster turnover they had

Could you imagine the Lb play in a 3-4 after 4 guys go pro and a projected starter transfers as he stares down a suspension

He’s was in staff last year. They didn’t frick up then. And our safeties are nonexistent.

We’re you asleep the first six games of last year. They came together once everyone was back and healthy, it our secondary had some issues early in the season.

You want to compare 2019 Texas and Florida to 2020 Auburn, Missouri Arkansas and Miss State?

We played good teams last year. This is probably our only game besides Vanderbilt where we didn’t have multiple blown assignments.

You don’t pay a guy 2.5 million to have a “break in” or “adjustment” period.

I prefer “moo” point. Like a cow’s opinion. It doesn’t matter.

It’s moo.

Again, I just don't understand the difference at the college level. They aren't running Belichick level defenses here, your big run stuffer can still play nose, and your tweener OLBs can play Defensive Ends in most systems.

Also, with the proliferation of the spread, how often are teams in base defense? It has to be less than 10 percent of the time.

I’m not saying that last year was just as bad. However, we weren’t as good as expected other than Stingley until well after mid-season. The cracks of the recruiting misses and having to play guys before they are ready were starting to show and have just gotten worse this year.

Other than Delpit, safety play has been declining for a few years now. Maybe you put that on Busch rather than Raymond, but things have slipped in the secondary. It’s easy to blame Bo for that and maybe he deserves at least some of it, but there’s a trend line heading in the wrong direction back there.

I think The Cb recruiting has been an issue.

Some of that is on Raymond but I doubt it’s his call to turn away guys like the CB who ended up at Clemson.

O knows we dont have the personnel.

He has said it before.
Just like pelini says the linebackers are playing completely different.
Just look at clark.
Might be great for one system and bad for another

Orgeron has got to right the ship and make some coaching changes in the off-season or he will be gone in less than 2 years, which is looking more and more like a good thing.

This made me smile, because my dad would preach to me about not reading your press clippings and that is so true. It keeps you hungry and humble if you are able to temper that. Somebody in Alabama does a great job of that and is a big part of “the process “. That is why they are in contention almost every year.

Is Pelini’s quote from this week? Cause 1) he shouldn’t be doing any media at all during the season—HC only—but 2) if this is a quote of his from the summer juxtaposed with something Ed said yesterday just to piece together some make-believe rift, then that’s bullshite. Plenty of real things to criticize without having to make shite up. (I concede I have neither clicked the link nor read the thread)

“It’s a big difference,” Pelini said to the LSU Radio Network via The Advertiser. “We have guys that were recruited to play in a 3-4. It’s not exactly the type of personnel you would recruit to play in a 4-3. It’s really foreign to those guys as far as the understanding of linebackers playing off the football. Then your down guys are playing different techniques and gaps, and it takes some time. And it takes some time for us as coaches to learn what your guys can do and what they can’t do.”

What Pelini was really saying what the hell was the defensive line coach do the last three years? I don't have any defensive lineman that knows or is able to play a 4-3.
