Coach O needs to eat some humble pie too since success has gone to his dumb coonass head.
He also said the defense wasn’t good under Aranda last year, he’s a dumbass.

This rings true to me. Orgeron said before the season that the defense is way better than at any point last year. What a laughably absurd declaration that turns out to be. Is he that stupid? Did he not get along with Aranda? We will probably never know, but his bringing in Pelini was an epic mistake. Shame on Woodward for making the contract he did.

Nobody has addressed my question on when this quote from Bo was given. If it was this week, that’s a problem.

It was recent. This article gives a better understanding of the timeline, and some context

Pelini When he says "we didnt have the personnel":

He means, as he explains, that the players just haven't had the time in this alignment to understand it. Not so much that the players can't fit.

It's really just a case of the media running with one part of the quote.

quote:

Bo: It's really foreign to those guys as far as the understanding of linebackers playing off the football. Then your down guys are playing different techniques and gaps, and it takes some time. And it takes some time for us as coaches to learn what your guys can do and what they can't do."

Coach O:

quote:

A lot of new guys in live action, missed assignments and explosive plays," he said. "A lot of it came down to technique and fundamentals that we just weren't ready to execute at a high level."

They are saying the same thing, but hey that isnt fun.

Coach O has done a good job of holding Pelini accountable though, imo. SAying he needs to simplify and communicate better.
