All good my friend. And I've been pretty consistent on the NIL front. It's all fair game and I have the don't hate the player, hate the game, approach.

WTS -- I would caution people who just rush in and think LSU is just throwing NIL at everyone to realize that Jay is a damn good recruiter without any of that. Don't discount that.

I'll be in BR at some point this fall. Would be neat to connect with some of you guys at the Box.

Well there was a shoulder injury fielding a bunt vs bethun cookman i believe. Who knows if that or just the step up in competition led to his demise

Seems like he had a case of the zach hess. Getting ahead 2 strikes but cant put anyone away.

Either way would like to see what Wes can do with him

Absolutely NIL is a monster in its own right that needs to be re-evaluated and regulated a little imho.

Agreed. Jay is an elite recruiter with or without NIL. The staff he has put together is top notch as well so we are super excited to see the development of these talented players

Definitely let us know when you’re coming in. I’ll buy you a beer and we can tell Aggie jokes

ETA: kidding about the Aggie jokes.

Paul Skenes 2022 box score crunch

- started 22 games as DH
- started 12 games at Catcher

- up until March 4th, Skenes would move to DH after leaving the mound.

-from March 11-April 2, he did not bat at all, reportedly had a back injury. He did make 3 starts as a pitcher.

-When he started to hit again April 2nd, he did not bat when he started games as a pitcher.

- hit a HR in each game vs Texas in regular season(Harrison/Cobb)

-HR in opener vs Iowa P Adam Mazur (pick 2.53 in MLB draft 2022).

Football NIL is a shitshow.

Baseball NIL is a different animal, which is why I assumed LSU baseball would excel in the new era (though I didn't expect it to happen this quickly).

In football you have some legitimate deals but a lot of it is random boosters trying to give a few grand to kids because they want their team to be good.

In baseball you have legit companies like baseball equipment manufacturers paying kids to provide their brand with the highest level of exposure possible.

I can't find anything more recent, but as of a few years ago the lowest rated LSU game on SECN+ had more viewers than the highest rated game not involving LSU.

LSU players get great NIL deals because the value of the image and likeness of a player at LSU is objectively higher than at any other school.

You don't think Neal, Jones, or Frey have a chance to beat out Milazzo?

Jesus the team went from needing Bianco to start to being one of the deepest lineups I can remember.

I hold Bianco in a special place in my tiger fandom. The only other player in the same category is professional hitter Chris Reid.

A guy that sticks around that long and contributes but never truly starts and still LOVES the team and school is hard not to be fond of. 99% of us on this board would have loved for that to be our role on any LSU sports team.

It’s win a natty or bust, which is what you meant I’m sure. Even in some off years LSU gets their foot in the CWS. The team Jay has assembled is a championship type roster.

Any player who can pitch and play catcher is amazing.

Now that is a combo I've never seen before - don't even know why it would occur to anyone - especially the pitcher.

It’s more common at smaller schools and divisions. I did it before I had knee surgery the summer before my sophomore year. It was easier after moving to OF.
