That's actually really neat and I thank you for your contributions!

P.S. do you think Carter Young makes it to campus?
(If you dont mind me asking of course.)

If I'm taking Morgan's superior glove off of first, I'm not "hiding" him in left.

I do. Young would benefit from going to school for another year IMo.

I prefer a guy with this profile in LF but that is just splitting hairs

Stevenson Kling and even Dugas would be a better option in LF for a better overall lineup.

Skenes is BIG. He’s proven on the mound.

This ‘23 team is gonna be sick.

Our OF is already stacked. Why do you think Dugas is trying to move to the infield?

The OF is Crews, Pearson, Stevenson, Kling
If White isn’t serviceable at 3B and Skenes hits but doesn’t play C, I could see a situation where it’s Morgan, Crews, Pearson in the OF and White, Young, Dugas, and Thompson in the IF. That should allow the young players to develop and if they force their way into the lineup you adjust accordingly.

Is Tommy White a draft eligible Sophmore? If not, I dont See why everyone assumes he plays 3rd. We could have just given him more NIL money and promised him first in 2023 when Morgan goes pro.

No he isn’t, but in order to maximize the offensive potential of the lineup either he or Skenes will need to play a position.

At least two of Stevenson Kling and Guidry are going to force their way into the lineup somehow.

I agree with that assessment, but it seems more likely to put Skenes at C than to force
Morgan into the OF as some are suggesting. Hopefully White works out at 3B. That’s absolutely the best outcome for maximizing the offensive potential. If not, I could see Johnson moving people around to get different looks and spread playing time, but I don’t see Morgan full time in the OF.

We still have Milazzo and Nealy coming in.

Jesus the team went from needing Bianco to start to being one of the deepest lineups I can remember.

If you are going to have 3 DH types playing the field, on top of the actual DH, then you have to make some concessions.

On top of that, you aren’t having a weekend starter & potential 1st RD pick play Catcher more than a few times all season, if any.

He did it at AFA. That makes more sense than playing White and Morgan at positions they’ve rarely played. Skenes at C also improves the overall offense unless Neal comes in ready to play.

This ain’t AFA or the mountain west, and he caught at lot less when he started games this past year vs coming out the bullpen as a freshman.

Even so, he’s caught 30 games in 2 years. Not a whole lot. Primarily was a DH.

I think he’s a backup option at C if/when we need a late bat for Milazzo or Nealy (if he’s not already in the game) but he’s getting a starter/DH look first and foremost.

I’m definitely going to more fall ball scrimmages this year to see how Jay manages all these guys who have a real shot at starting. It’s going to be a battle.

Kling was the 19th best HS senior in the country. I think he beats out Pearson. Dude is 6’2” 210lbs and ran the 60 in 6.36. That’s crazy measurables for someone that made it to campus.

I get it but I just don't see how everyone plays. How will Dugas play over the stacked IF? So many dudes! Too good to be true.

I’m all about Kling being a great player. But there’s no way you can say anyone will beat out anyone right now. He hasn’t seen SEC pitching yet. Pearson has and he’s proven he can hit it. So chill.
