The LSU Baseball Data twitter handle tweeted out a couple of HR graphics for Skenes yesterday in the first day of live ABs. He also threw a bullpen yesterday and touched 96.
For more context: Skenes is a two way player that transferred into LSU from Air Force this offseason. He's a high level pro prospect that will pitch and DH for us. He's formerly a catcher, but he's also like 6'6". He played against LSU as a freshman in 2021.

Shohei Ohtani is the best two-way player in baseball since Babe Ruth. He's a sub 3.00 ERA pitcher and 40+ HR hitter.
Paul Skenes hit .300 last year with 10+ HR and was 10-3 with a 2.73 ERA.
Crazy that LSU has college baseball's Ohtani and Mike Trout (Crews).

To be perfectly real about this, the '23 LSU Baseball team is a straight up Omaha or bust team. For whatever reason it's already starting to take some of the fun out of the season for me.

was wondering how this transfer portal bs works with the service academies, they used to have to sign contracts, maybe his was for pilot training and he grew too big to get out in case of ejection loophole?

I read somewhere that the service academies have an easy out after the second year, but I don’t know for sure.
