I would love to see him work a complete game in 9 innings but the way he pitches with so many strikeouts his pitch count is usually too high to extend that long. I do think he can easily get through 8 one of his next 2 starts. But I would expect him to go 7+ both games (Regionals and Super Regionals).

Time after time, we get generational talent, in every sport, to put on the purple and gold. Yet most of their time here is met with bitching and crying, mostly about trivial shite, but still… LSU fans have had it better than most for the longest time, and I don’t think they realize it. Look at the talent we’ve had come through Baton Rouge over the last decade….
I would argue that we do in fact know how good we have it here. Look at the talent that has come through in all sports and now look at the trophy case. Are you telling me that Football and Baseball have not underachieved based on talent that has come through?
And what fan base do you know of "realizes how good they have it" and never bitches on an online forum?

I rest my fricking case
You have zero perspective of the national scene. Hundreds of schools WISH they had the success that LSU has. Whether it’s being perennial contenders in almost EVERY sport or whether it’s getting top flight talent to Baton Rouge….. we have a lot to be thankful for, yet people like yourself will never see it that way

Pitchers should have their own separate awards. They do not play day in day out. Period

Yeah, I did the math, he is averaging 16.5 pitches per inning. With that average, if he threw a complete game he would throw 148 pitches. Still, I hope he can limit his pitch count in a couple games and give us a complete game or 2 on his way out.

And if he works a little harder he might qualify to pitch midweek games for Tennessee

Unless we face a super aggressive offense where they just swing on the first pitch hes not going to have a low enough pitch count to make it through 9 but I would love it if that did happen and he was able to work a complete game.

Nothing against Crews but if I’m Pittsburg holding the first pick of the draft I’m picking Skenes!

90.1 innings, and he has recorded 167 strikeout and only 17 walks. He is ranked No. 2 on LSU’s all-time single-season strikeouts list, trailing only McDonald, who recorded 202 strikeouts in 1989.
He needs like 24 innings, which he’ll get as long as the rest of the bullpen doesn’t frick up
