We have to get some healthy arms.

I hate LSU is in this position

Yep. All of this. Have some good pitchers on staff but all hurt.

You're an absolute moron. You expect us to win the national championship every year, right?

Our hitters do excel at hitting the ball hard, directly at someone.

It's unbelievable how quick y'all are to jump the gun. The last month Hess has been really good, something like 42 strikeouts to just 8 walks, 2.77 ERA. Nobody said anything about him going back to the pen.

Now all of a sudden he has one bad outing, and people are ready to move him again.

outside of his first start (2.1 IP 8 ER):

Zach has a 3.60 ERA in 30 IP, with 40Ks.

Before last night he had 4 straight quality starts.

He's been more good than bad. Fact.

It wasn’t even that bad of an outing, we have seen a lot worse.

I do not understand the melts from some. We have some really good arms we are figuring out. Hell, Hilliard is playing lights out. Labas is looking like a weekend guy and Storz needs just a few more weeks. Late April we could have a very healthy and experienced team ready to make a run.

We have MSU next. They are playing pretty bad right now. We still have time.

Our Bullpen has been pretty damn good minus 1 or two games.

Maybe let Labas be the Friday starter.

Problem with this thinking is that you are conceding on Friday that you will use 2-3 bullpen arms to start the series. They aren't going to push Labas this soon so you'd destroy your pen on Friday.
It may be time to accept that this is a flawed roster and that a regional championship with a super regional appearance is the new stretch goal for this particular team. I see next years swuad as a national contender but not this one

Bless your heart. You read one box score and think you know more than the coaches know about LSU players.

I'd love to have a discussion on next years team. Your 3 seniors, Beau Jordan, Coomes, and Bain are obviously gone. If you believe the guy last night about Duplantis, he's gone. Hess and Watson are draft eligible sophomores, you'd have to think they are gone,

So you have to replace your Friday night guy, your center fielder, right fielder, 1st base/closer/DH, backup catcher, and utility guy in Jordan.

How does Walker return? Does he take a while to return to form? Either way you hope you have 5 potential weekend guys in Gilbert, Hilliard, Labas, Storz, and Walker. That's good depth.

Biggest question for me is who replaces Watson if he leaves? Cabrera seems to move well. I don't know enough about the incoming freshman class to know if there is anyone like Cabrera who is a presumed starter when he gets on campus. Maybe someone could chime in that's more knowledgeable. I guess you'll see Weber potentially take a spot in the outfield? I've heard speculation that Slaughter could be out there next season as well.

Two seasons in a row we started slow and then picked up some speed in the middle of conference play. Both times the series we turned it around on was Arkansas. If we take 2-3 from them again this year that will be an achievement.

It’s a tough feeling as a fan when we lose the Friday night game. It feels like the whole series is out of reach after one game. Thankfully the players and the coaches don’t share this feeling.

It's what this team does for more than the past 2 years. Start slow, go on a run through the SEC tournament. Just accept it. It's what you get when you stock a team full of small guys who are always a head shorter than the umpire in the batting box. Slappy. They just wait until 2 or 3 pitchers hit their groove, because they won't consistently win until they stop allowing 5+ runs per game.

I thought they did a good job with plate discipline, we got alot of runners on base. Vandy aint bad. Lets see if Gilbert can keep em in the park tonight and go from there.

We out hit Vandy last night, 8-7.
