Other than special teams retardation and 2 secondary brain farts, LSU played well vs Vandy

If they correct those areas and put forth a complete game with a convincing win against Oklahoma this Saturday, will the doomsaying subside?

I’ll be pretty happy if this class that is currently committed signs. It’s a huge defensive class that we desperately need

Still, too many drops from the WRs.

Yep, we win by 14-17 points if not for that - and that's with kneeling down at the end when we could have scored another TD had we wanted.

I know because it's Vandy and the perception thereof, I think a lot of the folks I talk to kind of dismiss the win but I think it may have been our best played game of the year.

No turnovers and we ran the ball about as well as we have against anyone on our schedule.

Vandy beat Bama and scared the crap out of Texas in a 27-24 game that was much tighter than our game. This ain't your Daddy's Vandy.

Now that does not excuse the previous 2-1/2 games, that was/is not acceptable, but in a vacuum I thought it a good performance.

100 percent our best and most complete game of the year we were in total control. Which sounds strange to say about a 7 point win but it was never really that close

Don't forget another FG we passed up because BK will never learn.

What was the spread? Did passing up that FG help there?

Can we collectively send a memo to Brian Kelly:

On fourth and goal, more than two yards, just kick the da*m FG!!!

Not at all.

Just asking the question.

I think 8-4 would be disappointing considering HOW it would have happened (this presumes a win against OU).

2nd half of TAMU through all zeroes in Gainesville is some of the worst football I have seen from LSU since the dying days of the Dinardo era.

No. I’m actually pissed about it. However, if we close out the season beating Oklahoma I’ll be much happier than if we lost to them.

We had a ridiculously bad 3 game stretch against aTm, Bama, and UF. Realistically we should have won both the aTm and UF games but we crapped the bed.

Alabama kicked our arse, but if the offense could have scored in the first half that game would have been completely different.

Unfortunately, that has been the theme all year long on "If we can correct these areas...." At this point, I just expect wrong reads and coverage busts in all three phases. It's just who they are up to this point.

Kicking the FG was a no brainer. Even Miles would have kicked that FG

This gives off “well if we just stop giving up big plays, our defense isn’t that bad” vibes from earlier in the year

90% of the time, not taking the points always comes back to bite you.

oklahoma QB ran for over 100 yards against alabama. LSU is terrible against running QB's.

Zy Alexander blew coverage. I will never understand why a db will just let a receiver run right by him making no effort to cover the man. Idiotic.

This team will need a flawless performance to beat OU.

This board, in general, has a greatly inflated perception of Oklahoma's strength as a football team. Sure they beat Bama convincingly and beat Tulane earlier in the season, but they also have some really ugly losses in their CV this season.
