A friend of mine flew in from Dallas just for that miserable game.

For this game, I sat as high as you could sit in the west upper deck. I thought I was about to get ripped out of the stadium to my death at one point. Truly feared for my life.

My freshman year. What a horrible game. This is the game that got umbrellas banned in Tiger Stadium, after heavy winds turned many inside-out and flew them around like projectiles.

I only remember rain so heavy that you couldn't see the other side of the stadium, and the Miami receivers taunting the student section after scoring easy TDs on our end of the field.

“IT NEVER RAINS IN TIGER STADIUM”

Was there with a former friend who was an obnoxious Miami fan. Always wondered what ever became of that dude. LOL

I was there and my dad refused to leave until there were all 0s on the scoreboard. What a miserable game.

I was a soph.

I was dog sick that week leading up to it, had the flu or something. But, I was determined to be there to watch that epic tilt.

Except we got bludgeoned. And I got sicker. Cold, windy, wet and battling the flu while watching Steve Walsh act like the weather was perfect for passing.

Lord, what a miserable game all around.

The game sucked, but my date and I went back to her place to “dry off”. The night was much better 5han the game.

I was in Tiger Band. Even in the infamous $40 rain coats (righteous bucks in ‘88), we still got soaked to the bone.

By the time the 4th quarter started, there were more band members than students.

What a miserable night. Ugh.

That was the worst game I ever attended in Tiger Stadium, but we stuck it out to the bitter end.

I was dating a girl who was an Auburn grad. We hadn't been going out very long but she agreed to go down. She was still irked at 7-6. There was talk by the Sugar Bowl that even if Auburn were to be ranked higher than LSU, if LSU were to beat Miami the Sugar would take LSU. When it was obvious Miami was going to win she started pulling for LSU.

Does anyone recall the flag poles on top of the south upper deck? One for each SEC team. When the rain let up at least two were missing or broken.
