There is almost 0 correlation between followers and driving sales. I'm sure brands are willing to overpay for college athletes though. My guess is she wouldn't create a huge market for sales but more on brand awareness side which I think is all BS.

The kid who can't afford McDonalds is currently looking at those other guys who are getting a full ride and free meals plus cash as it is now. For that kid, if the proceeds others get from NIL will bother him, those guys getting millions isn't that much different from what they get now.
But if he has something that he does on social media that attracts millions of followers, he can now monetize that without fear of violating any NCAA rules and stay on the team he loves.

Correct. The NCAA had a very scrict amateurism clause that prevented athletes from profiting on their talents.

I’m willing to bet over half are bots that she bought and paid for. This is all too common occurrence in women’s social media nowadays. I’m not saying she’s not going to make money, but a social media presence can be easily inflated, which is the basis for over half of the arguments on here for her making bank. Furthermore, not everyone who follows her social media is going to buy a product she’s pushing.
Either way, this NIL thing is going to destroy locker rooms and team chemistry across the nation in just about every sport.

Ya and I have special insight into social media advertisements. Who's going to pay her millions? She's a gymnast. Is Nike increasing ad spend because of this? They reallocating resources from Simone Biles? Your comment is proof you have no idea what you're talking about. Advertising's goal is to drive sales. So again, I'm sure there are idiot companies or multinationals with unlimited ad spend that may overpay for her following but the high school simps and old men aren't going to be buying her yoga pants.
