Getting access to millions of views is incredibly valuable, regardless of the motive for those views. Your statement shows an ignorance of how advertising works.

Brands drool over associations with hot, popular people (men and women).

She actually seems like one of the more normal and down-to-earth TikTokers. Most of them get weird as shite once they get famous in that world (i.e. Addison Rae).

His point was that it was awkward. Not that it should be done away with. Your response was that they get everything paid for. There’s about 40 walk ons on the football team that get nothing paid for. Yes it will be awkward. Will they be happy for their teammates sure. But will it also sucks for those that struggle? Yes. Sorry you gave comprehension problems.

Why does she have so many followers? Can’t be just for her looks….there are plenty just as attractive

She looked like the Tik Tok blondes but instead of just being in a bikini doing a dance she could be in a bikini and do a backflip so she stood out.

Tik Tok is just one more way China is making America soft.

I can’t imagine following someone like this on social media to actually listen to their advice on what to buy when it’s whoever was the highest bidder. Is it very young girls starting out in gymnastics or needy young adult females thinking they are friends if they support her? Surely guys aren’t buying anything they would not be buying already. Watching yes but buying?

Any odds on how long it takes this girl to dump her boyfriend and quit school and the team? The team would be better off, and it does not seem like she needs to play the college athlete card like most will need.

At least she is honest about how she is making money and why.

Just taking a look at roster since i had never heard of her she isn’t even the best looking blonde on the team, but again I am going going by the current roster photos and not sure how they convert to real world.

But was she getting paid before or openly paid like now?

Olivia use to be an international elite gymnast. She had a large following (over 100k) even when she was 14 because she was a promising young gymnast who was throwing out a lot of big skills in the gym, she was a hit back then. People flocked to watch her training vids.

Obviously over the last two years her following has exploded. It’s no secret people like to follow attractive people. She is basically a real life Barbie doll but also a D1 athlete at a top program.

Olivia is actually a really sweet girl and comes from a great family. I’ve known their family for years before she even got to LSU. She is actually well liked and a favorite on the team. Her teammates and wide support in the gym community show it too.

Did Olivia tell you to F off? You come off as biter in this thread.

You are basically calling her a bitch and saying the team would be better off without her

Never heard of her before.

I think all teams would be better off without social media whores - male or female or whatever, and I just replied with for now to your comment about being well liked on the team. It doesn’t even have to mean she becomes a problem. Money creates jealousy.

Any way I am not the one describing her as a real life Barbie doll.

I was explaining the appeal of why she has so many followers outside her gymnastics. That comment is basically saying she is pretty. Of course a lot of people will want to follow her for her looks (guys and girls)

I express concern as well with the future impacts of team camaraderie And others succeeding much more than others from the new rules but that’s out of our control at this point. If we didn’t participate in this (profiting off of image), it would only hurt our programs from a recruiting perspective.

To the thought that she might leave early because of this, I would say the odds went up for her to actually stay. If you are adding to your status by being a college sports figure and you're making bank based on your number of followers, I think this may actually entice athletes to stay longer.

Also, for those who wonder who will pay her, two questions: 1.) Is she hotter than Giselle? I say yes. 2.) Did you know that Giselle makes more than Tom? She did at one point, at least, not sure about now. Companies pay a lot for hot girls to advertise their stuff and, like it or not, social media is the new medium and magazine sales are on the decline.
