Is it on the players?
Yes and No. There are situations out there that the players aren't helping themselves with stupid penalties. But, our coaching leaves alot to be desired for sure. This offense has struggled all year long. Something must be done to correct this.
It's great that Miles came out and said it was his fault. And for the most part it is. He has the final say. He tied his ship to JL last year and the ship sank. He's tying it this year to JJ and the Ship has holes. If they simply decide to bury their head, this season could get ugly.
I don't think JJ should be pulled. But, I don't think JL shouldn't get a shot to see if he's improved and learned from last year. And RS not playing was simply a poor decision.

Dmitch, I agree. There were plenty of plays out there to be had. I just don't think JJ is far enough along to make most of them. I always come back to one word "SCARED" that's how he plays. He doesn't take any chances. He's also slow to react to his surroundings. He's inexperienced and it's killing the offense.
It's funny, JL was over confident in what he could do and it hurt the team last year.
This year JJ has no confidence in what he can do and it's hurting the offense.
We need to find something in between.

what's really sad, is that it seems like over the last few years, it takes a loss for our coaches to realize when there is a problem

LSU runs exactly what you'd expect them to run given the formation. that's the frustrating thing.

"i did see him beat his man almost every time, but so did some of the other receivers. "

This is what I saw as well...I'm not saying JL is the answer (in fact I think RS is the answer) but we will never know...CLM and GC just don't seem to want to try and find an identity with this team.

They do have 2 weeks to correct mistakes and find a passing game. If that happens we could still be in for a GREAT season, but I'm apprehensive to think this will happen with their history. However, when given 2 weeks to prepare (SECCG or Bowls) our coaching staff has been able to come up with some good game plans...I'm just still confused and upset with the one we saw against Florida.

does it even really matter? JJ can't get the ball to any of them anyway at this point

Yea it matters. Mitchell still dropped 2 balls last night and I think he has as many catches as Randle does on the season even though he's played 8 times as much. Jefferson is not succeding because we're putting him in terrible situations. It's pretty obvious he doesn't like 5 wide sets.

We've had success with one package. Lafell, Tolliver, Randle, Dickson, and Scott. Either in shotgun or under the center. Our one scoring drive we drove the field using that formation. The last 2 drives against UGA that's the formation we used.

There literally is no reason Mitchell should play. He brings nothing to the table for us. Even if Lee played, Mitchell still shouldn't be playing.

i love the coaches, have become close with a few of them, so i am not throwing them under the bus. You guys just know your team better then i do so i wanted to ask those questions.

the florida db's dont think they will face a tougher wr unit.

before the last drive #1 Jenkins walked up to my brother and said this to him. if you recorded the game and have the stomach to watch it, see if you can see it on there.

i saw when he did it at the game and was curious to what he was saying to him because i saw him reach out to shake Rube's hand

JJ had a lot more time than some people are crediting.

He doesn't have the pocket presense to feel the pressure so he takes his eyes off the field and becomes a sitting duck.

If he had the feel to side step or step up when feeling pressure he could by a second or two and keep his eyes on the receivers.

MTL - the biggest problem is not the o line its JJ holding the ball to long. The O line play hasn't been great but JJ is just not seeing the field well at all.

I didn't say why he was laying on his arse or what personnel. I leave that to your imagination. However, between the ineffective blocking, JJ's 10 step drop and the fact that he needs to use an abacus to complete his checkdowns, some big changes need to occur.

It is a combination of subpar OL blocking, inexperienced QB and rotten play calling that is killing this offense.

I don't expect the first two to improve all that much, so the play calling must improve.

Game plan is only part of the problem. We have a major issue at QB. 11 sacks in two games. On one of the sacks RJ Jackson was open up the sideline and JJ looked his way and never threw the ball.

If someone else doens't get a shot at QB, we are not going to have a chance to get any better.

Does anyone believe that Saban doesn't see this weakness? He will stuff the run and make JJ try to beat them. It will be a repeat of many games this season.

Just wait until we bust out all kinds of freaky shite for LA Tech and Tulane though. The rant will be back to calling them the Wizard and the Hat again. It will be on!

Les will wait for a loss to fix problems.

And last season, it took 5 losses to fix the problem.

It's how he's always been.

if you don't feel JJ can operate even a 1/4th of your offense he needs to sit

if this is your actual offense then well we are fricked

if its a playcalling issue then crowton

You can't say its playcalling---its the offensive systems(s) that we are running. If the systems are shitty then most of the plays they call will fail to produce good results.

We can say Crowton should call different plays all we want, but the only plays he can call are the shitty ones that have proven not to work. We need an offensive overhaul and change in direction to take full advantage of our best players talent. Miles needs to take the reigns and we need to shitcan Gary after the season and hire a REAL QB Corch.
