Which brings me to my next question - why in the hell can't the coaches call some "jump ball" floaters down the sidelines to their 6'3" and 6'4" superstar receivers against smaller Dbacks. Two out of three chances of getting a completion or flag for interference vs. incompletion in a 1-on-1 situation. Seems like that's a great matchup for LSU.

hmmm, let's hear Jordan on that:

This just pisses me off even more. So did he not trust the receivers or did they tell him to hold the ball??? wtf

dmitch,
I really think our OL is the problem. We lost our road grader Big Herm who was replaced by someone 100 lbs lighter. T-Bob is a scrapper but has been out manned in most of the games this year. We lost a ton of OL signees due to rules violations and transfers and we are seeing the effects.

I agree, we had our chances to win the game. Untimely penalties and a missed call on their touchdown pass hurt us pretty bad. We'll be right back on top holding another crystal ball in the next 3 years.

Can you imagine if we had Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen running LSU's offense. Crowton would have them running the option to the short side 12 times a game.

He said on the td that he had one on one and put it up to the 6'5" receiver for him to make a play on the ball.

LSU runs exactly what you'd expect them to run given the formation. that's the frustrating thing.

Often you don't even have to wait for the formation. I can usually call the play based on our personnel.

Remember when he had Lee running the option?

Ole Miss game, JJ's first start. postgame interview they ask him about his first TD pass, a jump ball to TT. he basically says we had verticals called and he just threw it up to his 6'5 WR in a one on one matchup.

It's funny, JL was over confident in what he could do and it hurt the team last year.
This year JJ has no confidence in what he can do and it's hurting the offense.
We need to find something in between.

The in between would be JLee a year older:

A year of maturity
A quick release
A stronger arm, w/o the big wind up
A better long ball
A better D from last year, that forced him to take chances, to try to out score the opponent.
A better grasp of the offense.

The coaches coach like little girls now.

They are afraid to use the weapons they have.
