Ohio woman sues after alleged wrong-leg amputation, now double amputee

Jacks’ attorney, Brad Layne, told 10TV WBNS the error left his client a double amputee after doctors later had to remove the leg that was originally scheduled for surgery.

According to the complaint, Jacks’ right leg required amputation because of cancer. But the complaint alleges the surgical team removed her left leg during the September procedure.

Some mistakes are considered "never" mistakes, as in there's never a good excuse.

Really gotta research surgeons. If he seems like he’s picked up a recent cocaine and gambling habit, might wanna move to the next one

Most medical malpractice cases require expert testimony that there was a breach in the medical standard of care owed to the patient, and that breach caused injuries that would not have otherwise occurred.
In cases like this, however, expert testimony is not necessary to reach a conclusion that the surgeons and staff were at fault.
