I'm sure every team looking at Ricks is afraid he will be just like Stingley and have an "injury" so he might not play at all

I've been wondering how the NIL deals are structured. There is no way there are performance clauses in them, but there has got to be an out when a kid leaves a school. I wonder if they are all one year deals, or for the whole time they are in college. It seems like lots of the players with big NIL deals didn't have good years.

Smart. Why pay a guy that will probably play half a season and then protect himself from injury for the draft.

This is the part that hasn’t made any sense to me about Ricks transferring. If he’s trying to get money out of it, I get it from his side. But the schools have to know he’s gone after next year anyway.

If NIL deals aren’t relative to games played, what assurances do you have from him that he won’t just shut it down whenever.

There should probably be a new rule that when you take NIL money you can't transfer away for a set time period.

That's between the player and whoever is paying him NIL money and would be contractural in nature just like a coaching buyout.

Haven't been paying attention: any chance he stays, or is this kid all in for a college payday? (dumb reason for him)

Why y'all think Ricks was out in HOLLYWOOD?!
Dude's gonna play for the Trojan Condoms next year.

Yep, I can see it now:

I got hammered here for saying the same thing about J'Marr Chase. I don't understand why it was okay for Chase and not for Ricks.....

Also Chase wasn’t a selfish little diva. That dude worked his arse off day and day out to get where he’s at. If you remember Chase wanted to play during the covid season but he actually has asthma and caught covid. He had multiple pumps while dealing with it and could hardly breathe. That’s what made him rethink his decision and decided it was best to sit out his junior season.

Now that he's going into his final year , absolutely big risk. Not worth half a season. If your team loses a game or two he'll opt out. Very selfish.

Good! Weak arse bitch. Wish he’d be around for the USC matchup in a few years.

Wouldn't it be nice if Ricks went to Georgia and he and Gilbert can both call Kirby a bitchass mofo to his face at practice?

So why do we want Brennan back but not Ricks back?

Both entered the transfer portal after injuries, yet everyone is bashing Ricks in this thread, while the Brennan thread has people hoping he’ll reconsider LSU.

These players are not only a risk on the back end, when they quit their teammates.
They likely were risks at the front end, when some other five/ high four star decided to commit to another school rather than compete with another all star for PT.
When they quit early, you lose twice.
That's why recruiting character is as important as recruiting talent.
Jack Bech was not highly rated, but you could tell he wanted to play and nobody would stop him.

Well, for one, Ricks is a starter and Brennan is not. So playing time is evidently an issue for Brennan, but not Ricks.

Brennan stuck it out for years, Ricks has been trying to chase the money since last year.

Former players dad posted that Ricks was jealous of Stingley getting deals and he couldn’t.

So in essence, Ricks is a punk bitch looking to get his and Brennan is trying to, you know, actually play.

Or is there an underlying “reason” why you’re asking?

You think Max beats out Brennan if he doesn't get hurt?

Yeah, because trying for more money is a bad thing. You've never done that, right?

Again, where is this notion coming from that Brennan wouldn't play?

idk, but you didn't help the cause here.

"If he’s like Riley, he’ll go to USC. If he wants to be challenged he’ll go to bama or Georgia"

If he wanted to be challenged he would have stayed at LSU and practiced against world class receivers.
He want s clear path to the moola in the first round of the NFL.
