I know I’ve given O props all year but felt this warranted a thread. He got the monkey off our backs.

I thought we could have moderate success under Coach O but never imagined anything like this. Never been so happy to be wrong about something in my life.

Let’s take a moment to bask in this one, boys. This has been and is going to be a season for the books

I was 1000% wrong. Was absolutely convinced we were heading backwards with the hire. I wanted a clean slate and a full purge.

Can we just move the other thread from the Score Board and sticky it

I’ll post my comments here so LE can more easily bookmark

quote:

I haven’t liked O as a person for like twenty years, so no this game or season doesn’t change that history.

But his players and coaching staff are putting together what is probably going to go down as the best season in LSU history and I give him all credit for that. He has done an incredible job and I’ve loved every second of it.

Now STTDB and RTRFU

quote:

This team is on an incredible run that will go down in history and we are all loving every second of it.

All props to O for that.

But the reality is the team underachieved in O’s first two seasons and will likely be right back to 3 and 4 loss seasons next year when Urban Meyer’s QB is gone which we only got due to a NSD clusterfrick.

O will live in LSU history for this season and rightfully so, but that doesn’t mean he is untouchable for the rest of his tenure.

If he gets us to another NY6 Bowl next year I’ll be a full fledged believer in him as the long term answer for this program, otherwise this is just the greatest player in LSU history lifting us to the promised land.

I can get on board with this. Glad he realized what he was doing wasn't working and went out and got Brady. I didn't think he could do that, glad I was wrong

In. I didn't like O's hire at the time, but he's done everything he said he would do, I'll admit I was wrong. Beating Bama is the benchmark for success, and he did it.

The way the hire went down will always sit weird but now that Alleva is gone it makes things easier. I’m glad he is winning and proving us wrong. And I know he’s not satisfied which is what i like most.

As much as we’ve bitched about coaching over the years, it’s reasonable to acknowledge a job well done so far.

*Raises hand.

I called him an dumbass shrimp boat captain who was ignorant about modern football. Fully admit it, and glad to admit I was wrong.

I might even to go BR to let him give me the arse whipping I deserve.

2016- Happy he kept the ship afloat
2017- Was disgusted we hired our DL coach who failed at Ole Miss. loss to Troy put him on a very hot seat
2018- Won some BIG games, NY6 bowl, got me to buy in with skepticism.
2019- I’m all in, no questions asked. He has proven time and time again he is the right guy for us.
