You’re getting two years of Pelini in some form or fashion. Get used to it

I think it’s simple. Demote Pelini. Biggest knock on Raymond is that he has never called plays. Well now is your chance

That or something other than just coaching is going on. Our opponents’ receivers are so wide open even I could cover them better than that.

O should be looking EVERYWHERE for a young defensive coach that is running a 4-3 scheme with success. Ny the end of the season, the players SHOULD have some element of understanding of the concept so that coach will be able to communicate with them over the off season.

Where is LSU gonna find $5,000,000 to fire Pelini right now ? The football program just lost $80,000,000 due to COVID.

Ed will need to step up and take a pay cut if he’s gonna fire Bo.

O created this shite show. I question whether he has the intellect, insight and disposition to fix it.
The most pressure O has faced prior to this was after the Troy loss. After that game he lost his composure, like throwing Brossette under the bus. Remember it was an ex-player, Duke Riley, who returned came in and lifted the team up and settled them down that week.
Has made two epically bad hires in coordinators, Canada and Pelini, and a questionable hire in Ensminger.

“Stuck between a rock and hard place”

Ummm no. O drives the bus. It’s not somebody else who made the decisions on who is on staff.

It’s more O in charge driving the bus off the ledge.

Exactly, who's going to coach the defense? O? Hell he's the one who wanted to play this style.

non-factor IMHO. Not when the defense is leading the charge into a historic collapse.

Most DC's look at that and think "I'd have my house on the market too if I was Bo".

They know.

Bo is done at end of the season unless miraculous transformation of play in last 5 games.

Here’s the struggle if you are Woody. LSU boosters will absorb the Pellini mistake (like Canada), and it won’t be the full $2.3 M per if Pellini catches on somewhere next year (maybe FCS school hires him as HS).

The challenge is for Woody do you commit $6M to next established DC if you are having serious doubts that O can sustain LSU. 5-25 SEC record without Aranda or Brady indicates he’s fine as interim shot of Red Bull, but his specialty is DL hand combat and wooing recruits with tales of his past.

K'Lavon Chaisson - First round NFL draft choice
Patrick Queen - First rounder; AFC defensive player of the week!

No point in firing Pelini right this second. Let him finish this season and then shite can his arse. Go after best defensive coordinator available in offseason. The season is already over, doing something right now will just throw fuel on the fire.

This is the winning reply of this thread.

There is definately a locker room issue and that stems from O's comments regarding president. Thus they didn't want him being a part of their march. Schools around the country had them, its nothing new just at LSU. Alabama had theirs, FL, and players wanted their head coach to be a part of it. LSU players did not. That speaks volumes.

Aranda was an amazing DC and players knew it. They respected Aranda. O constantly taking shots at Aranda is not sitting well

Yes he has. Really bad hires. It is looking like Ole Miss O on the LSU sidelines.

The next game will be really bad.

Watching that game , it honestly looked like O has completely lost this team. I don't know if firing Pelini now would do anything, but that team quit on ALL the coaches on Saturday.

See, I don't think this is really as big of an issue as some of us are making it out to be. It might have been that week that it happened, but I don't see it playing into what we're seeing going on right now.

I can see this somewhat playing a role, but still I don't think that's 100% of what's going on.

I think it's very simple. Coach O should have never hired Pelini as a replacement. And he should have never hired Linehan as a replacement. Bottom line. Two piss poor hires on his part.

dude, no one is getting fired with a 80 million dollar short fall, its stupid to even talk about this shite...literally orgeron is taking a 300k pay cut... its ridiculous... booster money is going to pay bills that arent paid... not toward firing a DC in his first year with 5 million buyout...

I'd do to Pelini what we kind of did to Canada the second half of 2017. Let him keep the title of DC through the end of the year with a mutual understanding we'll be parting ways at the end of the season. Let Raymond start calling some plays and see how it goes. If Raymond isn't working out either, let him stay where he is as DB coach and find a new DC. If he's working out, great.

But there is just no excuse for what's going on right now. COVID is not an excuse. It may be an excuse for a slight drop-off but not an excuse to getting torched every single weekend and having arguably the worst defense in the SEC and 100% the worst defense we've had in 30 years and possibly ever. No adjustments have been made whatsoever and there has been zero improvement since week 1. This experiment should be over. Keeping him around for another year over 4 million dollars is going to cost you more than 4 million dollars in the long run.

booster money will go where boosters say it goes. If a group of boosters wants to raise 4 million dollars to buy out a coach, they will do it. They don't just draw buyout money like that from the general TAF funds.
