The reality of last year was no one was playing well with the Oline….hurt or unhurt. His legacy should be more about his Junior Season than last year.

I wish him well in the future and hope he finds a way to spend a few years in the league as a backup qb…..the best job in the NFL.

Man I hope nothing but the best for Nuss. With that being said man that shits in the past. It’s Kiffin and Leavitt time.

Yeah those 13 TD’s and 8 INT’s in SEC play in 2024 really show how dominate he was that year

Nuss is going to be in the league for a long time. He's the next Chase Daniels.

I mean it doesn’t help when your rushing game was ranked in the bottom half of the country. Anyway it’s the past.

When attempting to be snarky, it pays to proofread and have a clear understanding of grammar and word usage.

Matt Flynn is a better comparison

Nuss has already made more money than most make in their lifetime. There’s nothing I would like more to see than further success in life for him.

As for me, I closed the Nuss book when I paid for this season’s football tickets.

He’s one of the best LSU QBs of all time. Threw for 4,000+ in a season (only the 2nd ever to do that at LSU, for the uninformed)

Lee was undrafted and did not have an NFL career beyond signing an UDFA contract with the Chargers before being cut before the start of the season.

Flynn was also a seventh-round draft pick, like Nuss, and had a long NFL career, as mentioned by the guy I responded to. That's why I suggested he was a better comparison.

I would not put him in best of all time category, but I think he had a nice Jr Season and showed promise before our offensive scheme and personnel lost all identity.

I never understood why people would hate on former LSU players.

I mean, as a Saints fan also, if he went to Tampa or Atlanta I'd want him to suck . But just for him moving to the NFL, it would be cool to see him do well.
I didn't hate James Wright for his lack of catches here, and was glad to see him get a couple years in the NFL.

As far as expectations, Nuss may have had the worst season in NCAA QB history. He had the second-best odds to win the Heisman at the beginning of the season.

Nuss was always at best a very, very mediocre QB.

if NFL evaluators believed his struggles were purely due to his injury and poor OL, he doesn't drop all the way to rd 7.

Pre injury he still struggled to consistently make plays down field, go through progressions, made bone headed decisions, and absolutely refused to make plays with his legs.

Matt had some NFL qualities and then landed in a good system that developed a number of backups into starters in the NFL.

Other than their alma matter, I don't think he and Flynn share much in common.

Long term NFL back ups are usually either guys with spot starting upside or grinders that are extensions of the coaching staff in the film room and at practice. Nuss is definitely not the latter
