Based on what? He has isn't accurate,he is one of the least mobile qbs in the nfl, he is small, he makes bad decisions, and he admitted to not being the first person in the building.... but yeah besides that he has all the tools needed to be something in the nfl.

so much of this was just garbage, stat-padding yards in meaningless games, either against bad teams or trying to come from behind.
700 yards and 8 tds came against 2 rent a wins

But did you see what he did in the SECCG v Georgia!!!!!
Yes, Georgia went into prevent defense mode allowing a bunch of throws underneath, and Nuss still threw into double coverage but our WRs were bad arse and bailed him out more than once.
Dont believe me, go watch it again. its on Youtube.

What about the people who hated on Jayden Daniels to promote Nuss in 2022?

Pre injury he still struggled to consistently make plays down field, go through progressions, made bone headed decisions, and absolutely refused to make plays with his feet.
This is what it boils down to. Well said. I wish him well, but even the best of Nuss is still a very flawed quarterback.

I wanted Jayden to be great, and I was actually very impressed with what he showed his first year here. The 99 yd drive in game 1 against Fla State, after Boutte (his expected go-to) was a flop, showed me a lot. Wasn't JD's fault the extra point was blocked, and for the record I wanted us to go for 2. I think he scores and we win that game.
I wanted Nuss to be great, and he put up some big numbers in 2024. He wasn't perfect, but he was good enough to win more than we did. We absolutely had A&M on the ropes, nobody saw that 2nd half defensive collapse coming. We needed a better running game; took awhile to find Durham, then then he gets his toes smashed.
2025 was bad, and he CLEARLY was physically limited. People talk about poor decisions, I think he cleaned some of that up... but he couldn't throw 30 yds in the air last year.
I think Nussmeier at his best is the 2024 Oklahoma game, which was against a good defense that we overwhelmed. Would have loved to see that guy a lot last year, we never did.
I also rooted for Van Buren when he came in.
I'm excited going forward with Kiffin, because I think we're going to see a much better and more balanced offense. Kiffin's had a number of good running backs at Ole Miss, I think we have the guys to do that here if the system is in place.

Nussmeier and Jarret Lee will go down as two great QB tragedies in the history of modern LSU football.
Given the right set of circumstances JL would have done really well.
Nuss came and stuck around at LSU in truly the worst time in football history. He oversaw 2 coaching changes and his senior year that should be a banner year, was nothing short of a disaster because of a horrible O line, a guest head coach who did not even bother to show up sometimes and an injury that should have sorted out before the season started or early in the season.
I wish Nuss the best in the NFL.
There was once a second stringer from Michigan who was a 7th round pick for the New England Patriots. That worked out well for him.

Na. I always thought JD was the better qb, even before his Heisman season.
I did think Nuss would play well last year.

How many seasons as an NCAA starter did Daniels have in that game? How many starts did Nuss have?
Same WRs that were catching Daniels passes.
Georgia had the best defense in the NCAA, that season, Nuss had the best performance against them of any other QB that season.

the pic against A&M comes to mind - we were up 17-7 and he had a first down easily if he'd run and slid - instead throws to a covered receiver and it changed the whole complexion of that game.

LSU fans booed him as well.
He lost his only super receiver, Wendell Davis, after his Jr year.
When Davis left LSU, he held the program record for catches, yards, and touchdowns.
Davis' 183 career catches was an LSU record that stood until Malik Nabers broke it year.

He sucked...even on well blocked throws.
Does this help?

Somewhat agree, although he should have been better regardless of line lay IF his injuries were not a factor.
I believe we’re about to discover our O-Line coach was not nearly as good as we were led to believe, especially when teaching the position.

Jarrett runs the clubhouse at a golf club in Austin now. I believe he’s dating the owner’s daughter there. He’s always there working the counter in the clubhouse. Seems like a nice guy.
