Correct. It’s really not that hard to be that kind of db… if you know basic routes your receiver is likely to run, can run as fast or almost as fast as him, and turn your hips to adjust…. You can make plays like ricks did. It’s really not all that unique of a talent. I know I know people will bash me for this…. But they probably aren’t athletic and don’t know how easy this comes to many people.

As much as I'd like to see Ricks ride the pine, I feel all this talk is simply motivation heading into camp. The kid has the big head being the hired gun brought in to fix their corner issues of the #1 team, and the staff is trying to take him down a peg.

Came here thinking I was going to find a used Charger listing. Disappointed.

Would not be surprised if this kid doesn't make it there the whole year.

Saban wants his players to be about the team. Winners play for each other. They feel accountable to the player around him. Ricks is not about that.

Eli ricks is a ‘me’ guy.

How much whiplash is that going from Orgeron to Saban?

bullshite. Rick's is an issue head case. Was here, left, went to rival, still an issue with thinking its about him

You've never covered guys. "Know what kind of routes"? What, downfield routes? Ricks was friggin good! He was good in man, too.

Honestly, this makes me feel like Ricks made the right choice. He is learning the discipline needed to succeed in the NFL and he is surrounded by a team full of guys that have already learned these lessons and can show him the way.

Yes, I think Brian Kelly would also be teaching him the same things if he stayed similar to how he is teaching Boutte, but he would be surrounded by an entire team trying to learn the same lessons and wouldn’t have the same amount of role models to lean on and learn from.

With that said, i hope he sucks for Bama.

BS Saban will put up with anything from any player that gives him an advantage on the field. Raymond didn't like Ricks diva personality either but he played anytime he was healthy because that CB room was depleted.

Savion Smith was another 5-star who tried to be their groupie and he wasn't even drafted. Ricks is going to end up like that CB they had Tony something who pissed Saban off all the time but he got playing time because he was talented.

Supremely talented kid but am absolute cancer of a personality and it comes from his family. When things got tough he got going out the door. It didn’t matter that we lived the entire family from California and set them up. There’s no loyalty in college football and it’s only going to get worse with the portal and NIL both being unchecked. If it keeps on this road I won’t be able to watch anymore like I can’t stomach the NFL now. I hope Ricks has to eat some humble pie and isn’t a starter this year for Bama.

This is also what Kelly will demand

Dude it happens everywhere. QB who left Ohio State for Texas. Was even rumored Jayden Daniels' mom was giving input on who ASU should recruit.

Ricks was a diva and Raymond didn't like putting up with his crap either. Dude isn't going to suddenly change and be someone different at Alabama. It'll be hilarious to see if he can't win the starting job though because Bama was very meh defending the pass last season.
