Notes from “Locked On Clemson”

Morgan Thomas (MT) is the host of the Locked On Clemson podcast & he released an episode recently entitled “The 3 Players Clemson Should Fear Most”. He actually detailed the top 6 LSU players that worry him. Here are a few of cliff notes from that episode. The comments below are a combo of quotes & paraphrasing.
1) Princewill Umanmielen (PW1) - Clemson is replacing both tackles from last year & the Left Tackle starter is still not set in stone. MT said that Clemson must identify where Princewill lines up and run away from him. The Left Tackle position could be a nightmare scenario. If PW1 has a bunch of sacks and a bunch of pressures, LSU probably controls the game for 4 quarters.
2) Sam Leavitt (SL10) - The combo of Lane Kiffen & Sam Leavitt should scare you considerably. At ASU, Sam threw for 34 TDs & ran for 816 yards & 10 rushing TDs. SL10 may not throw for 400 yards, but he can turn a busted 3rd down play into a scramble for 8 yards. If anybody’s gonna stretch out Tom Allen’s defense it will be SL10.
3) Trey’Dez Green (TG14) - This is the player who scored a touchdown against Clemson last year after a big turnover & that essentially ended the game. Green 6’7 is a red zone nightmare. Who’s guarding 6’7? I’m hearing there is a lot of chemistry between Leavitt & Green and that’s a big problem. Green can make a good secondary irrelevant in 1 play. His size and frame is just unfair.
Those are the 3 LSU guys that scare me the most. Here are the next 3 up that are on a fear level for Clemson.
4) Jordan Seaton (JS77) - He can erase 1 of Clemsons weapons on the Defensive Line. Seaton started 22 games in college with 561 snaps and only 1 sack and 5 pressures allowed. This is a problem for Clemson if they can’t pressure SL10 without blitzing because they tried that last year & it didn’t work. Lane Kiffen will exploit that if he knows that Clemson will have to consistently rush 5 or 6 players throughout the game.
5) Whit Weeks (WW40) - Whit is the guy who can make QB Christopher Vizzinas day really tough. At his best (health wise), he could be the best linebacker in the country. An experienced linebacker can really disrupt a young g QB. WW40 had 8 QB pressures last year playing thru injuries. We all know he’s a stud. The chess match between Weeks & Vizzina will be intriguing.
6) Running Back Room - Dilin Jones (DJ13), Harlem Berry (HB22) & Caden Durham (CD29). LSU has dudes at running back. This 3 headed monster can cause a lot of problems for the defense and you have to throw in Sam Leavitt as well. Everyone knows that Lane will want to establish the run.

We’ve got to rattle their QB early on

Who will either be a guy who couldn't supplant Klubnik for 3 seasons or a true freshman.

Excellent summary.
If you're not already pumped up watch this podcast … a Clemson homer basically saying it is going to be very hard for them to beat this LSU team / coaching staff.

This is the game that permanently returns them to lil ole Clempson. I don’t think they have the booster infrastructure to get a 40m+ dollar rosters if needed. Dabo is still beloved in that fanbase as well, so it’s gonna be hard to push him out

It would be ironic if it did because a lot of their fanbase thought beating LSU in the Chick Fil A bowl in 2012 moved them to the next level.

Thanks for sharing. A real football junkie watches Locked on Clemson before our game.

Moscona usually doesn’t crossover show on game week. I know he does it for SEC teams, I assume he’ll do it for Clemson as well

I usually watch our opponents Locked On, before each game, but was surprised to see specific LSU content 2 weeks early. I especially love watching the opposing episode or two immediately following an LSU win. Some Locked On hosts hate LSU so much & they can’t mask their hatred for the Tigers. Almost every SEC opponent takes losing to the Tigers very hard, but Ole Miss & Florida are on another level lately.
