I agree that Jacoby should be at second with Moore at DH. But moving Katz to second and having the whole right side be out of position seems like too much if Moore can just play second.

Katz is a pretty good athlete, and Moore would be okay at 1st, but I don't see it as a long term solution

Moore is terrible at 3rd. And he would suck at 2nd too
This is a little strong IMO. I agree that we should just DH Moore at this point, but IF Coach does bench Jones for a few games as has been discussed, I would not move Katz to 2B. Moore played SS on an elite travel team in HS--he has a good glove.

Is it possible that Jones was still feeling ill effects on Sunday that caused his poor play.
I will stick up for Jones' glove long before his bat.
His play in the field was uncharacteristic of him.
just my 2 cents.
What say yall?

Yes Jones has been great in the field. I was thinking the same thing about his illness.

Does anybody have a link confirming any of these lineup changes or is all of this just Rant speculation?

He discussed all of it at his presser today. I dont know what all was said in this thread but today he touched on:
Switching Katz and Rhymes in the lineup tomorrow
Playing Moore at DH tomorrow and maybe beyond
The possbility of Jones not playing tomorrow

Mainieri's going to do what he want's to do, but changing anything on the infield minus Jones's spot could/would be a huge mistake.
Subbing in Yocum at 2B for a few games to get Jones's mind right should be more than enough.
If Moore is inserted into the lineup he's best fit at DH period.
Outfield needs to stay the same, infield needs to stay the same.
Too many people assuming because Paul inserted Nola at SS his freshman year and had success that something of that caliber will work every year.
LSU needs to stick with what they've been doing. Consistency will get them deep into the playoffs and Jones will be right in the middle of that run. His bat has been lacking, yet if you ask anyone he's one of the premier middle infielders in the league defensively.

Jones is actually hitting .277 in SEC play.. not that bad. He seems to be complacent or he has a bad attitude.

If I remember right USCe has a lefty heavy pitching staff . . . Who do y'all think will DH vs lefties?
Will be interesting to see if Moore gets a start against a righty and a lefty.
I hope so cuz Schambra is not a great offensive option IMO.
