Nola will not pitch twice this weekend under any circumstances.

1000% agree.

Pitch Bouman tomorrow!! Save Nola for the single elimination game Saturday.

Although this isn't a bad suggestion, I'm pretty confident CPM will stick to the plan and pitch Nola tomorrow knowing a W cements a regional host and allows Nola extra rest in advance of a Sat. regional start.

We will piece the SEC tourney together as the NCAAs is much more important!

re: LSU BaseBall Sunday Pitching

This thread provided great Monday morning comic relief.

Obviously Sunday starter is a problem (see Astro's stats) but I'm not giving up on Bouman and/or Bugg.

Sunday starting is a revolving door for many college teams (even quality teams).

Miss. State never really settled on a Sunday starter last year, just relied on their bullpen early and often. That seamed to work out pretty well for them in June.

It's all about winning weekend series. Trust CPM, he's good at this baseball coaching thing.

"Swung on and he. . . pops it up. . . . well it's go some carry. Warning track, he just pop it right on outta here"

Just heard a "GET RID OF THE BATTIN' COACH!" from the 3rd base side.

i still think it was shortsighted to request a bye. Every other year now (save 2014) we basically have to play the entire season without a bye. that isnt smart.

Not true, 2014 is a "1 year schedule" but very likely will be similar through 2015. The schedules will be revisited before 2016 to revisit 6-1-1 or other as well as 9 vs 8 conference games.

Translation: there is no long term schedule plans in the SEC right now because of the changing dynamic of conference realignment and CFB Playoff, therefore, there is no way to be shortsighted.

My only question in all this, which has remained unanswered, is that given we know CBS can and does dictate which games get played when and at what time (the Friday game was their deal from the get go) why on earth would they willingly give up the Friday game every other year so that A&M can play a game on Thanksgiving forcing CBS to lose the game? If CBS can be told to go piss up a rope in odd years, why can they be told the same in even?

Not sure if answered but I'm going crazy reading this broken record question

Answer: CBS can chose which game(s) it wants on a given weekend but it cannot/will not broadcast a Thursday game regardless of Thanksgiving or not. Furthermore, CBS has ZERO say on SEC scheduling, it DID NOT "give up" a good game and LET the A&M/LSU game move to Thursday, it had absolutely no say in the matter. So why the move?

OBVIOUS: SEC Network and cash money

Yes, A&M wants the game on T-giving, but if you fools don't think the SEC wants this game on the SEC network you crazy. Nobody says it has to beat out an NFL game but it's still making more money by having one great SEC game on Thursday night.

We get two choices for return trip:

1) Play on T-giving at night in Tiger Stadium (at night but TD still implodes and breaks the internet)

2) Request it not played on T-giving and it's played based on normal TV requests (CBS vs ESPN)

I agree that Little Nicky gets his way with the Iron Bowl on Sat., but y'all just gonna have to deal with that cuz ain't no LSU AD gonna change the Bama love coming from Birmingham!
Pretty good points by the Aggie above.

Although I understand some of the bitching I really don't think it's that big of a deal. Most fans do not travel to a particular away game every other year (unless they have family/friends etc. in that town or state or they are loaded). More likely, most fans take a road trip or two a year and rotate where they go. Therefore, I think most fans (me included) could get their family to sign off on 1 Thanksgiving day absence every 4 or 6 years for a trip to College Station.

My entire extended family gets together on Thanksgiving and I have not been able to make it multiple years because of attending grad school in other states. Not ideal but it wasn't the end of the world, I see them at Christmas! Have also had many family members attend NFL games on T-giving on random years and it was cool. In fact, when many in a family love football, going to a game is really not much different than being at home. Just don't get the nap!

LMAO! Congrats Red Stick on the post of the day!
Rather get a full back tat of Harvey Updike with "Roll Damn Tide" under it than talk baseball with tadelatt.

Your stats are accurate, your paranoia is misplaced. . . 40-6!
I think the ??? was some sort of emoticon but nice.

This discussion is a waste of time running around in circles.

This, although y'all are arguing SOME valid points I think you both agree he has struggled to some degree against tougher schedule.

all i said was he needs to bat 9th, but only if PM has someone in mind that he thinks will be suitable at 2.

This is the real discussion point fellas. I've already said I don't like Raph or Ibarra here.

What about Sciambra in the 2 and Laird in the 9 hole?

I have to believe a gimped up Chad Jones is still better than a healthy Roman Harper though.

This!

refs frickED him with one of the worst calls

As much as I absolutely loved that hit and I will NEVER forget it there is no doubt in my mind that was a by the books penalty. Jones absolutely went for the KILL with the game on the line, if he hadn't dude would have scored a go ahead TD.

Hope he gets a shot at a camp this summer!

if you watched last nights game, we were crisp on defense, pitched well, and looked mentally sharp. Only thing was we didn't swing the bats as well as I would have liked. I say 2/3 only because Carolina is a good team, not because we're hitting any kind of wall.

Agreed, all this "hitting a wall" talk has some validity but this team is different and I think we are about to be reminded of that!

2/3
Both are a waste but I despise preseason polls, although I agree they can have an impact on final polls as voters are reluctant to drop teams they thought would be good.

If it were up to me they wouldn't rank college football teams until October but obviously TV people would not allow this cuz they love to hype ranked match ups.

The 2 hole hitter doesnt have to bunt

Not disagreeing with you here but he does if he plays for CPM!

I'm agains putting Rhymes in the 2 hole, rather him hitting with runners in scoring pos. And no chance in heck CPM puts Raph to 2 IMO.

Also, I expect the team to be jacked up an ready to go vs SC this weekend. I think the Katz/Raph switch is gonna pay off big. . . It's time for Mason to turn it on for the stretch run!
