Seems like the majority are in favor of a transfer. What are your thoughts?

To me Nuss deserves his shot and one thing you need to take into account. A QB like Nuss unlike JD will open up the running game more.

I’m definitely pulling for Nuss

We’ve seen this story play out a few different ways in the past.

On one hand you have Matt Flynn, who played sparingly while waiting his turn as a backup for years. In his final season, he became a playmaker, won a NC, and got drafted.

On the other hand, you have guys like Myles Brennan who couldn’t overcome a variety of factors, including injury, to ever become a consistent starter.

The point is, you never know what you have until you let the guys compete and nobody is owed anything because it’s “their turn”. Having more talent on the roster is better than having less.

I trust the coaches to make the right call and the best QB will win the job.

Simply not true. People believe in Nuss and also realize the next men behind him are Rickie Collins and a true Freshman. It does make sense to bring in someone with some level of playing time to be a backup and there if something happens to Nuss and to "challenge" him.

You get a transfer so you have stability and competition in the QB room.

If Nuss is better he wins the job. If he’s not then you got a better QB than him.

1. The majority are not in favor of Nuss transferring.

2. There is nothing right now that Nuss does that “opens up” any part of the offense more than what JD does.

3. Nuss will get his shot when he wins the starting job in the offseason.

This is one of those unseen areas where House's shitty defense really hurt LSU. By almost never being able to put a game away due to the defense, Nuss and Collins got very little playing time.

The only way to get better and find out what you have is to play. With so few game reps, even Nuss appeared to take a step back this season.

TBH, bringing in a QB to be Nuss' backup is only going to hurt Collins' development. From what I remember, the kid has skills, but those skills won't be developed if he is instantly relegated to 3rd string again because Kelly brings in some transfer with experience. We can't keep bringing in guys from other schools at the expense of the guys already here. Doing so only keeps us chasing our tails and watching talented guys hit the portal.

Last year when JD5 wouldn’t throw the ball over 10 yards downfield? Absolutely
This year when JD5 has more TD’s over 20 yards than other Heisman contenders have completions? What kind of dope are you smoking my man.

He probably meant, the running backs will be featured more.
Long drives, that consume the clock, should help the defense. Those quick scores by QBs such as Burrow and Daniels, gave the defense little time to rest. If the defense made a stop, then the offense scored quickly, the defense was right back on the field

All you are seeing is those not liking Nuss voicing there approval for getting some one to replace him.

I wouldn’t put much stock on anything most say on here. Go back and look at how many wanted JD benched and Dembrock fired last year. LOL.

Myles' biggest problem outside injuries was his heart was never in it.

I don't think that's the case with Nuss. He's talked about how much he's worked with Sloan to get better and he also has a connection with the players that it seemed Myles never had.

I think it's a given that Kelly brings an experienced QB in. The question is whether he brings one in for competition and depth or if he gets a player that comes in with the understanding that he will be the starter. If it's the latter then Nuss transfers and we're back to being without an experienced backup.

It's just your classic changing of the guard.

If JD was anything less than a Heisman candidate, everyone would be talking about the excitement of getting Nuss in there and seeing him ball out next year.

Because JD just had an all time season, everyone is gonna panic because you have to assume the level of QB play will go down.

We need four qbs, you don’t offer a guy a spot to be worse than Nuss. You get the best you can get.

If Nuss is better, he plays.

This is not rocket-scientry.

Y’all are thinking too much about this.
