Yes, we remember when he said this over a week ago, but thanks for posting anyway.

Until he says “well, actually, things changed because x and y and z”
We’ll hear something this afternoon. If not this afternoon. Tomorrow. They can’t keep it quiet much longer.

Will Wade isn't the same level as a coach as Saban, like trying to compare Rich Kelley to Shaq

Written by the NC St beat writer using old quotes from Wade that are very open ended.
If wade wasnt coming here, why such deafening tone from his end since they lost in the tournament last week? Pretty to just say "I'm not going to LSU" with all the rumors flying aorund and he hasnt - ever wonder why?
Pro tip - on the premium boards several actual insiders have said a deal is in place for him to be our next head coach, not 1 person, not 2 people, about 4 or 5 different well connected folks are all saying the same thing. McMahon is out and the target has been only Wade since the beginning of all this.
We didn't hire McNeese's president (who hired Wade last) and Verge for many other reasons other than trying to make this come to fruition, it's what the boosters want...and if its what the boosters want, they usually get what they want if they put the money up to make it happen.
NC State wont be able to compete financially with us ultimately, and I dont know that they love Wade enough to drive up the price to something they would pay anyways.

Yes the first thing I say when I don't want the job is "Wait is the position open?"
He's either about to get paid by LSU or paid by NC state. The fact NC state hasn't announced a contract extension yet should say atleast something is going on behind the scenes.

Coaches arent normally ever extended after their first year somewhere unless they have a huge first year or signed a shorter term deal maybe. He still has 5 years left on his contract right now
FWIW I'm in the boat he's very likely gone, just way too smoke from people in the know where they are clearly telling the boosters a deal is done with Wade

I would expect no less, especially if nothing is signed or negotiations are on-going. Nobody knows what the current situation was at the time he was asked and answered. My ethics would have me doing the job I'm in to the best of my ability as long as I'm in that job. In short, his sharing that he's thinking about his team and working with his current administration does not put him in a different category. He's in the grey area. You just believe he's signaling that he's staying. None of his statements affirm that.
So you're assuming then neither he nor his agent knew about a possible LSU opening? Ok. LOL Especially when others are saying "the deal is done"? As if his answer, "Is the LSU job open" wasn't telling enough. "In the grey area" would mean he is very vague about everything, doesn't seem that way. You folks will believe what you want. If he does end up coming, he will work us over for the next job. His wife is from North Carolina, and she's a UNC grad, which is interesting. I just don't seem him going anywhere.

How many times in the history of college athletics has a coach returned to the school that 5 years before fired him?
I understand what you are saying. Now let’s take a different situation that had happened many many times in college coaching. Couldn’t the same have been said about the first person to do that particular situation.
Also how many times in the history of college coaching has a coach said he wasn’t leaving his school only to leave a short time later.

He's NC Sts coach until he's not. Why is that so hard to understand?

Yeah it’s gonna be so hilarious when all these posters here acted like they had inside info & told us that Wade is coming just to realize that we’re stuck with Matt McMahon for another year
So much lolz

Almost like you're cheering for that to happen...
Your dislike of a coach has giddy about keeping a guy who is 17-55.
I'm not an insider, pass along what I hear. Plus, read the tea leaves. This all points to a believe by someone at LSU thinks we can land Wade.

I just don’t think Wade is coming. Sounds like that means we are stuck with McMahon.
I wish they’d go get someone else but that’s obviously not happening

Well tbh I though he only had a 3 year deal.
But I would still think with these rumors if they wanted to keep him they would get an increase buyout in now.

Nothing in your OP says "I am not going to LSU." He didn't even deny it. He just asked if the job was open. Then he goes into what needs to happen to be successful. I didn't read the article, but was that agreed to by the NCST administration?
