So you're assuming then neither he nor his agent knew about a possible LSU opening?
Technically the job was not open at the time. McMahon is still the coach under contract. That allows Wade to deflect and not answer the question. He evaded the question. This is him operating in the grey. This is not rocket science.

Do is he on the verge of announcing? #SWIDT

IMO, the truth is both sides want it. But can the logistics work? That takes time to sort. If so, cool. If not, comments like the one Wade made and respecting McMahon (by not publicizing this situation and whats going on internally) allows both sides to move on without egg on their face, if it just cannot work financially. I dont think the admin wants another Ole Miss/Kiffin situation so soon. McMahon is not the right guy to coach at LSU. You cant argue objectively that he is after a 4 year sample. But you can argue he is a good man and treating a good man with respect no matter what the outcome is never a bad thing. But let’s be real, the people in charge arent fools (anymore) They know what a Wade hire would do and understand that McMahon may not be the right fit for LSU but should still be treated with respect.

Not MBB, but...

How many times have you seen this unique a circumstance.
The school fires a very popular coach that the vast majority of the fans loved and wanted to keep.
The folks who fired him are all gone.
The rules and circumstances in place that were used by those who pushed him out are no longer an issue.
He is still VERY popular with that majority of the fans that never wanted him gone in the first place and season ticket packages would sell immediately and quickly.
the coach at the school he left has struggled mightily and there is little confidence that he will be able to be successful in the future at even a small level.
Not sure such a convergence of circumstances have come together in a manner that would even give another coach even an opportunity to have been hired back.

Just because Saban said that and didn’t stick with what he said doesn’t mean Wade will do the same. Hell Saban is one of only a few coaches that has stated that and actually ended up leaving.

It wouldn't?? LOL you make an arse out of assuming. You can assume, but no one else can?

He clearly answered the question and then talked about the future. Not sure how familiar you are with coach speak, but Wade's answer was zero indication of him leaving, rather, it would be an indicator of him staying based on his own words. You assuming anything different is ignorant, some might call it "wish-casting"...

I don’t think anyone has wanted someone who was fired to come back this bad though.
But we’ll see. Hope it happens.

Th guy isn’t seeking the truth and never is. He’s purely agenda based and that agenda doesn’t include LSU basketball having success. Like a lot of his type they want their incorrect predictions to magically come true and the more that doesn’t happen the more extreme and nonsensical their takes become. You can’t have a good faith discussion with posters like him, it just isn’t possible.

I hope they can make the return happen but the sauce indicates otherwise.

They can't just "get" an increased buyout and put it in his contract. Wade has to agree to it.

Does LSU men’s basketball have an opening

Will Wade is returning and you’re fuming

You know how many quoted Saban after that and Saban next left again or that particular coach didn’t leave.

Forget WW for a second, do you think McMahon will be coaching at LSU next season?

I really don’t see how you can bring him back. Even if they gave David Patrick a 2 year bare bones deal, that would be more exciting than McMahon Chapter 5.

I don’t see him back either regardless of the WW thing.

I just don’t think Wade is coming.
Based on what? The fact that you don't want him to come?
The fact that there is silence on his end and on LSU's end with MM, with an April 1st reduction in buyout date looming, it seems to me the evidence is clear that its a strong possibility.
