The reality is that pressure and expectations matter very little for Kiffin's first year. He's not going anywhere.

Exactly, there is pressure and high expectations and there should be pressure and expectations - this is the SEC and this is LSU. And you are right he won't get fired even if he goes 6-6 this year. But the honeymoon will Absolutely and completely be over and it should for the money we've spent on him and the roster.

Again, my expectation is a playoff this year and I don't think that at all unreasonable of an expectation.

nah. after the sh*tshow that was Brian Kelly. We know that it will be a fun year of football watching. we have a shot, but in reality everything would have to come together. team chemistry, lack of injuries, esp. at qb and corner, offensive line gelling early. all the regular stuff.

after this season expectations will start to rise. I am optimistic we go 10-2 but realize we could go 9-3. Because we have a good defense i don't see us going below that. But I know for certain that it will be entertaining football to watch.

I have dreamed of having a head coach who attacked offensively. Saban did some of that if he had the right qb, and Joe Burrow did it. We know Lane will do it every single f*ing season! Geaux Tigers!

It's the SEC. There is pressure every game

One thing is for certain... Our offense should be A LOT more fun to watch than that abortion we had to endure last year.

There is pressure, but I think people understand that 9-3 is very possible. That will be outside the bubble for the playoff. Making the playoffs would be amazing and I think most think 10-2 will get there. So the difference could be a late turnover in a game to determine a playoff berth. So it is going to be fun season. Kiffin knows there is pressure considering the money spent on portal and a buyout.
He won't be feeling the pressure that Sark is going to feel this season.

that’s just the reality with the portal and flipping entire rosters in an offseason. anything less than 9 regular season wins would be pretty disappointing.

Assuming Leavitt stays healthy, I think we will go 9-3. Does that get us into the CFP? 35% chance yes, IMO.

Texas went 9-3 last season and spent over $45 million on its roster and did NOT make the CFP.

We expect COMPETENCE and CONFIDENCE. We know there are likely a couple losses. We just expect to play LSU ball, and the results will start to flow.

Why do yall act like he was a total failure? He didn’t win a championship. But to call his tenure a shite show is simply incorrect.

Look at Florida and Auburn in the same time span and compare LSU to them. It could have been much much worse. Kelly did some good things for LSU but ultimately we moved on.

LSU also was late to the punch on embracing NIL and the portal. Kelly doesn’t write the checks. He spends what he was allowed.

LSU at 9 - 3 with that schedule is better than 11 -1 Tulane that makes the playoffs.

The overall system is messed up big time right now.

Bk went 9-3 his 1st season and made it to Atlanta. In my opinion, 9-3 is the floor & anything less is simply unacceptable.

I'm expecting 12-0, as usual, until we lose one. Then I'll expect 11-1 and so on. Screw that 9-3 talk.

I agree and think (hope-?) most fans feel the same way. Faux pressure from media members like Finebaum does not equal the real pressure from fans and decision-makers that sunk BK last year.

All I want this season--and am confident I will see---is a feisty team thats prepared each week, fights like hell, and goes down swinging in those games that they lose.

Very hopeful for a playoff appearance but focused first on attitude and effort.

Pressure to me means that if LK is not successful this season he could lose his job. That ain’t happening, the only pressure comes from within the team itself in the desire to be great.LK will be at LSU for years to come hence no pressure this season.

There's a ton of pressure. It's LSU, just different.

Don't listen to the media. No pressure this year. Yeah the roster is expensive but so are the rosters at a lot of schools and they will lose games

Boosters didn’t spend 200+ million for a 8-4 and 9-3 type season. The expectations should be sky high year 1.

There is no building classes anymore like years past. It will be time to win starting by whipping Dabo.

You obviously missed the point. No one is saying he’s going to be fired But, there is still pressure to produce with expectations at LSU. The money spent is absolutely relevant. To some of us, if you’re going to bump ticket prices and expect big NIL money to flow next season, it better be a damn good product.

Nick Saban could be the coach and there would be pressure

“He’s washed up too old” would be said as soon as he trailed in his first game
