No need to pile on Wade while he’s down

Totally respect this man for having the balls to admit that he overreacted and mismanaged his roster. I posted correctly this roster was mismanaged weeks earlier but got pounded by some on the Rant for stating a fact. Some of you here need to grow a pair, and admit when you’re wrong!
Transfer portal does make it easier for coaches to correct their roster mistakes, so you can expect Wade to rebound in a big way next season. Hopefully these Tigers can turn this thing around this season, there is still time.

I am confused. It was okay to pile on Orgeron who did win a national title but it is not okay to pile on Wade who has won basically nothing?

O could have been here for 10 more years and would have never fixed his problems. He was completely unqualified to be the head coach at LSU. Wade is very much qualified and has the ability to fix his problems. Joe Burrow and Dave Aranda covered up all of O’s warts.

But Wade hasn't done anything to put a negative light on the program like O did.
Yes, this is sarcasm. Of course, NIL and 8&4 have made what Wade did previously look like child's play.
Please spare me the "but they have nothing on him" crap. Let's not be naive about what college basketball has been for a long time.

So all coach's have to do is say "My Bad" and they are shielded from any criticism.
WW has no choice at this point, the team has collapsed and he is the coach and architect...he has to take the blame.

Y’all gotta stop comparing wade to the moron who just about nuked the football program

No need to pile on.
Need to start shopping for his replacement.

It is hard to really see how he "mismanaged" his roster relative to his prior LSU teams. People (and Wade) will say he got too many bigs. But did he?
The 18-19 team essentially played only 3 guards all season: Waters, Mays, Smart.
The 19-20 team essentially played 2 guards: Mays and Smart who both averaged 34 minutes per game.
Last year LSU played 3 guards: Smart, Thomas, Gaines.
Going into this season LSU was expecting to play 4 guards: Pinson, Miller, Gaines, Murray. That would have been the most Wade has ever played at LSU.
The only reason LSU didn't find themselves in a bad spot in the previous 3 years is because they didn't lose their 2-3 primary guards to injury. Does LSU win the SEC in 2019 with a backcourt of Mays and Marlon Taylor/Marshall Graves? Do they have as efficient an offense in 2020 with Smart and James Bishop in the backcourt? Is the offense elite last year with Gaines and Cook in the backcourt vs. Smart and Thomas?
This year Miller was lost for the season about 4 weeks before the start and Pinson has missed most of SEC play. No one is talking about roster mismanagement if those injuries don't happen. It is 100% a case of hindsight bias.
And for Wade to say "some of the bigs aren't helping at all", then whose fault is that? He continues to run out Reid game after game despite him giving you almost NOTHING. You bitch about the lack of rebounding. Well, Reid did not come into LSU with the rep of being a great rebounder...which had played out in SEC games. Why not give Colbert some minutes? He was a guy who lauded as a good shot blocker coming into LSU and someone who could move to rebound. He's more athletic than Reid and could likely hold his own a bit more on guard switches. But I guess Reid's minimal production is just too important to give other guys a shot.
IMO, this is the first time Wade has had some significant injury issues involving vital players. It's also the first time he has taken real heat for his team collapsing. So he is trying to take accountability for it. In reality it sounds like excuse making.
The injuries have hurt the production without question. But Wade hasn't done much to try to adjust his offensive approach to better fit his personnel. He asking Gaines to essentially take the role of Pinson, Waters and/or Smart when that is just not the kid's game (at least at this point in his career). On defense teams have figured LSU out. But there has not appeared to be any counter-adjustments on LSU's part if the fact they have been completely destroyed by 3 poor offensive teams in a row is any evidence.
Hey coach, your initial plan of attack was derailed by unanticipated injuries. It sucks. We all get it. But rather than complain about your roster mismanagement, how about we try to tailor the style of play to fit the guys you DO have? Perhaps a primary ball screen offense is great...when you have the guards to execute it. But you don't. So why keep trying to force square pegs into round holes?

I definitely agree with the point of giving some other bigs an opportunity on the defensive side. It's not like you're losing a bunch of offense by taking Reid out of the game. I do think he showed more aggressiveness last game on offense. need more of that. But to say he didn't have enough guards when he had 4 prior to the season doesn't make much sense. You take the top 2 guards of any team, even Auburn, and where would they be? The ignorance of this site is amazing.

This has been my complaint -- coaches making millions of dollars but we don't see necessary adjustments. What do they do every day? Serious question.
I'd think Wade would be talking with his assistants EVERY DAY to think of creative ways to adjust to the realities we're facing. We've lost 6 of 7 -- TRY ANYTHING to light a spark, both offensively and defensively. Most probably won't work, but something might. And we're losing badly, so things can't get worse.
Try different player combinations. Even use bench guys that don't see much action. Try other offensive sets to free up guys and maybe steal a couple cheap baskets with motion and cuts.
Try mixing up our D with some zone, half court traps, and full court press (which WORKED against Vandy).
TRY IT ALL - because what we're doing now isn't working.

One minute he’s the worst coach ever. The next we need to stop piling on....

But you don't react to that by just plugging other guys into the same offensive and defensive philosophies -- you have to ADJUST. Do different things based on the roster we're left with, not the roster we wanted at the beginning of the year.
Will we struggle? Yes, probably.
But you can't keep doing the same old thing when it clearly isn't working.
In this situation, a coach needs to earn his millions. ADJUST!!

How would Wade know Tigerdroppings is “piling on” him?

Refresh my memory... but which coach was suspended during an investigation??

Though I appreciate a coach who sees a problem, admits it, and tries to fix it, he needs to shite or get off the pot. Tired of seeing LSU be an almost threat.

No negative light? Wow. Already overlooking the investigation and damn strong offer?
I like WW but he needs to put winner on court year in and year out with his recruiting and recruiting tactics, and not “next year”. Just about every NCAA tourney is won with strong guard play and we do not have that

Ed Orgeron received negative feedback from Day 1.
Wade deserves criticism. If he’s the real deal, he probably ignores most of it and focuses on making our team more successful.

That is a rant specialty, especially when 99% of those complaining could careless just last year.

I see no faults with these points. We have yet to attempt anything different from what we have done all season.
