Why not Madison Square Gardens? It's been there since the beginning of time

Wade inherited Jones mess.

what mess? Say what you will about Johnny Jones, but he was very well liked, could recruit, and left some really good players.

frick man, WW isn’t coming back.

That has nothing to do with having good memories of the "Good Ole Days".
A few years back, pre Woody, we were excited about where we would play in the big dance.

Now Woody has us wondering if we will make the "Not in the Tourney" exhibition.

one thing you have to include is one is playing in the SEC and the other is playing in the SLC.

One has won every place he has coached.
One gets fan support for winning 50% of his conference games.
The other gets ridicule when going to the playoffs.
LSU Fans???

How come they were not winners prior to Wade?
Was Wade a magician or good Coach?
The same players with Jones were losers.

There can't be good talent on poorly coached teams? The point is the cupboard was not bare and there's no comparison to what McMahon was left with.

Wasn't exactly a murderers row was it. Reath could barely walk and chew gum at the same time he was so raw at that time, Mays was not very good at all his freshman year but did become better each successive year under WW, Epps was a tweener who was athletic but too slender to play inside and not quite good enough to be and effective stretch 4, Samspson is playing overseas so not even good enough to crack the NBA minor leagues apparently and Wayde - tragic story, love his Dad.

Johnny Jones lost the team and the fanbase once Ben Simmons’ team didn’t make the NCAA tournament. He was a dead man walking his last year here and the team was terrible. The talent was still there though.

Acting like Wade took over a program in shambles is just wrong. It was more of a team and fanbase giving up on a coach. He had a good foundation to build on.

The situations in which Wade and McMahon took over aren’t comparable.

Will wade is not stupid
He knew he could dominate that terrible conference and put himself in position for something bigger while he rehabs his image
He’s gaming the system just like he always has and will be millions richer when some desperate power 5 needs a new coach and then he can go cheat legally

Point out that Wade inherited NBA talent his first year and the Ward cult says they sucked. Point out that McMahon had zero players on the team and the cloud of sanctions when he was hired and they bring up what Wade did his first year. You can’t make this stuff up. I don’t think anyone has said Wade was a bad coach. But the Wade cult refuses to accept that McMahon inherited a worse situation so he was cut some slack his first year by the normal rational informed LSU fans. He improved his second year and is going to the NIT. But suddenly the NIT, which is what Wade used to springboard his first team, is an insult to the Wade cult. Here’s an idea. Don’t watch. Don’t follow. Don’t post.

Wade is a better coach.

Wade has better results and will continue to have better results.

Wade has turned around more teams than the current lsu coach.

Wade made basketball relevant at lsu for 4 or 5 years. I may be waiting forever until another coach approaches his success, unfortunately.

I will continue to go watch lsu because I support lsu. I lament the fact that Wade was sacrificed for football.

Wade being a better coach remains to be seen. As of right now he was a better recruiter but that is what can put McMahon on the same path. No one wanted Wade gone but it is what it is. But all of this McMahon hatred is based on Wade fans being angry with Woodward. In order for their anger to be justified McMahon HAS to fail. It is really a sick and twisted thought process. So what if it takes McMahon 3-4 yrs to turn it around. As long as it gets turned around I don’t care. If he doesn’t then they’ll fire him and hire someone else. But the constant whining and bitching from the Wade cult and the desire to downplay anything positive is what makes them a cult. Move on. He’s not coming back. Get behind the current coach and team and hope he can get us back to the dance. Thus ain’t life or death. LOL

I don’t think we have to wait for it to be seen who the better coach is. What else needs to be seen?

McMahon did a good coaching job with the talent he had relative to the rest of the SEC. Especially once Cook went off the reservation. To lose your leading scorer and starting PG and do what he did was impressive. Let’s see what he does with better talent. If you can’t see that then you’re just another cult dweller.

Do you get paid by each usage of the word cult? I’m beginning to think you start every post with the word and then fill in the other words around it.
