These players have a smoke and mirrors season and rise their stock and suddenly everybody wants to pay them out the arse. I’m kind of over it. You think you can just put a team together of millionaire kids but they are fricked when it comes to team cohesion.

A $50m roster of players who can’t get on the same page. I know there’s some fair rage posting today and maybe that’s what this is, but this is a bummer.

It is a bummer. Even though we are all yelling at each other today I feel for the pain of all my tiger brethren. It’s been rough since that natty man

We are paying QB's 5 million dollars for 12 games. 416k per game

Many Americans don't make 2.5 million over a 40 year career

I am sad this morning, but it's different... I am just tired of LSU not being relevant in December...

Sucks, but it shouldn't steal my joy, but I am sad this morning...

oh well

Was just about to post something similar. Yes this is why Saban quit, he went to the pros and saw his style wouldn't mesh with millionaire paid players they don't care as long as the check clears and they stay healthy enough for the next game they will get their bag. There needs to be some sort of system that makes these kids have to earn the bigger pay days. Give me a few million dollars at age 18 I would not give a shite about winning either only that sports car I'm about to buy. College athletics is ruined forever the old ways of winning are gone

They are being overpaid based off of supply and demand. Very few are actually worth the money they are getting.

Saban said it and it’s true, player evaluation and paying the right ones at key position is paramount and if you don’t that ship sinks quickly. Anyone want to take a stab in the biggest nil miss with little ROI? It’s easy to pick out the best.

Yet somehow other programs are getting it done.

There needs to be an NIL cap just to protect programs from themselves. These kids aren’t worth what they’re being paid.

It started when O lost the team in the summer of love... It hasn't been the same since.

Well, it is a hired position anymore.

Makes sense that it matches the hiring problems in most companies.

Free enterprise. They are worth what the market dictates, no more, no less.

What sucks is you are paying based on film every year you have to go buy a QB. Kind of a crap shoot.

Yep - talent fraud. Especially at the O/L level.

Hopefully when it's a normal off season and not the first year of a new staff having to completely rebuild a roster, you wouldn't have the same amount of big money portal player adds. It almost creates this sense of desperation which drives these prices.

The transfer portal rules need to change somehow anyway. It's a bigger problem than NIL in my mind. You can't have teams losing half their roster constantly.
