Tanner definitely deserved the error for that one.

Better to have your LF drop it now than in the CWS, amirite?

Does it look like they water the infield more than normal?
Can’t remember if it was Saturday or Sunday, but Milam lost his footing on a toss to 2B in the first inning. Immediately after that he made a gesture towards the dugout and I wondered if he was complaining to Jay about the dirt.

That is included in there and was one of his two good outings over the last two months of the season.
His other 4 outings were:
0.1 IP, 3H, 2ER
0.1IP, 2H, 2ER
1.2IP, 4H, 3ER
1.1IP, 3H, 4ER

That's because he wasn't locating the FB to setup his change up. That has been his issue. He commanded it perfectly against Arkansas. You're not fooling anyone if you lack overpowering pitches to begin with and can't locate them to set the change up. Any change up that's getting sat on in is going to get crushed. If he's painting corners like he did in the earlier play he's sitting a lot hitters down.

C'mon Cowan finish him here.

Reaves with an error
Yorke moves very well at first, doesn't he?

Zone is tight, but he’s called it both ways. That’s all you can ask

Here is his stat line from May-June last year:
6 appearances, 12 IP, 18 H, 13 ER, 9.75 ERA. That's not good.
I'm not discounting what he did at the beginning of the season. He was very effective when teams were chasing the changeup out the zone. He became less effective as teams started laying off of that.
A few real rough appearances skew this a bit.
He gave up 1 ER in 5.1 IP in the CWS against Arkansas, as well as 3.0 IP with 0 ER in a regular season game against them
He went 2.2 IP over 2 games against Tennessee with 0 ER
So he had some really good appearances back half of the season but also just had some really tough ones too. A 9-10 ERA over a significant time frame would suggest pretty much all bad appearances but wasnt exactly the case here. He ended the season on a very storng note in the CWS.

Artigues up to bat. Mock at 2B, Perkins at 1B. 0 Out.
Shows bunt, takes high, 1-0
Bunts in front of Arrambide, fires down to 3B and gets the lead runner. 1 Out

Cowan looks like last year outside of Omaha. Slow predictable pitches

This ump's strike zone is tighter than his wife.
