He was one of the best pitchers in the SEC last year lol
Here is his stat line from May-June last year:
6 appearances, 12 IP, 18 H, 13 ER, 9.75 ERA. That's not good.
I'm not discounting what he did at the beginning of the season. He was very effective when teams were chasing the changeup out the zone. He became less effective as teams started laying off of that.

Eh, I think it's much more than that. He had no trouble dominating in SEC play when everyone knew what he was doing then too. It's location of his pitches that's the issue here. If you're painting the corners with command on the FB it doesn't need to be overpowering. It's more he's hanging too many in the zone with his pitches so he's lacking command/control over them.

Ump gave the pitcher that call. That was a ball off the plate.

Heading to the 2nd inning. Mock, Perkins, and Artigues due up for Nicholls. Cowan returns to the mound at 24 pitches.
Tigers lead 5-1

If the ball couldnt find Reaves when he's on the field, I'd be okay with that

Mock leading off the 2nd.
Single to LF, Reaves couldn't make the catch.
