I’m not saying folks will be calling for Kiffin’s job because it’s year 1 that would be outlandish . But to be 4-3 midway in October with anything meaningful officially being dashed would be an uncomfortable position to be in for the fanbase, boosters, and team. Just imagine how down the excitement for the bama game would be if we headed into it 5-3 or even worse 4-4.

Hopefully, the team comes out loose and energized instead of tight feeling the pressure to keep playoff hopes alive. Truly have to have a week to week mentality and chip away at the hole we put ourselves in.

Would be a nail in Baker’s coffin if they lost Saturday

Wholeheartedly agree. I think Kiffin already lost trust in him after his end of game collapse vs Kentucky .

We would all start talking about team needs, who to fire, portal etc

Like we have been every year in mid-October for the past 5-6 years

Agreed in the "lost confidence" aspect and from her out, I think Baker is coaching for his next job. He cannot afford any semblance of a "collapse" and hope to be an attractive candidate for another position.

I also think we see more aggressive offense going forward.

Already threw a little dinero on it. Might as well profit from my misery.

90+% of the bets are on lsu. This has all the makings of coming out flat, Taylor 2 quick TDs and Vegas makes a killing on MSU holding on in TS for a close but huge victory.

Why is everybody putting the blame on Baker and defense? 4th and 1 and you punt??? Lack of trust elsewhere too.

You’re not wrong. Both Kiffin and baker gotta wear that Loss both went conservative at the worst possible time with Kiffin’s punt decision and baker’s prevent defense call

People shifting the blame to Baker like we just exonerate the HC.

St some point Kiffin needs to take responsibility if this somehow turns into a 7-5 type season.

Think about alllllll those issues with the BK era and he didn’t even get that bad.

Kiffin is an upgrade and the better coach, so his floor should be higher than BKs.

fans always get up for bama regardless. you must be very young. show me a bama game where we did not get up for it. blown out in covid and under kelly? fans still got up for it. dumb coaching like miles in 2013 and 2015 at bama? we still got up for it. under hallman did we not get up for the 93 when pigs fly game? damn right we did and we won.

overall just ignorant statement.

It should be, and it is. The SEC is significantly better than it was during BK’s first season.

We also play a 9 game SEC schedule now and can’t get a free win late in the year like BK did against UAB.

FWIW Lane also arse stomped his OOC ACC opponent opener and BK lost.

Statistically, LSU is the cream of the SEC. Dumb (and some suspect) penalties, bonehead plays, and injuries have screwed them.

Baker also got 2 critical stops just before with the offense fumbling in the redzone.

4 straight critical stops is a lot to ask of anyone.

We've lost by a total of 9 points, on the road... against 2 coaching staffs that have intimate knowledge of our schemes and operations...

Because the offense played good. Gave the team a chance to win besides a few snafus. Bakers unit was shite the entire game.
