No names on the back is interesting. Have any other alternates ever featured this?

That color shift paint is pretty cool.

Would be a whole lot cooler if they would have shown it.

While Nike likes to let the school create a story behind the uniform, they normally do these 1 off alternates when they’re testing new uniform templates and it usually will happen vs another brand school. So far, all have been at home vs Arkansas and State (Adidas) and Auburn (UA). The uniform has been in making for two seasons because the purple helmet was first noticed in O’s Tiger Bowl in 2016.

I really like the look as an alternate that is worn once a year.

Those helmets are so badass - I hope they use them again.

Color changing helmet is a bit over the top, but I wouldn't hate seeing LSU go all white with a normal purple helmet once each season.

That purple helmet looks good.

The helmets cost around $1k to produce. I’d imagine they’ll auction a few, but most stay in house and get refurbished.

Love the helmets from what I can see. While the traditional gold helmets are the best looking in CFB, this will have everyone talking for the weekend. Good move by LSU & Nike.

I’m normally completely against this but because the the connection to past history I actually think it’s really cool. A one time per season thing is fine with me. Even though we’ve done it once already against Ole Miss.

I agree. Those shiny color shifting helmets under the lights at tiger stadium will look amazing. Recruits will love them. Great for 1 night.
