I agree with posters who suggest McNeese will not give you the best Death Valley experience. Which game would you want to go to? It may be that some posters here could help you find tickets for well below what they cost on the secondary market.

If I were you, I’d wear my UConn gear. That will identify you as a visitor but not a hostile one. Several years ago (our magical 2019 season I think), a couple of retired Oregon fans made it their mission to go to Game Day wherever it went and always were in Duck gear. They got total royal treatment at LSU. Admittedly that could be due to everyone’s really good mood that year.

A schedule will get published earlier in the week showing when the team and the band will come down the hill. Get over there earlier rather than later if you can to get a good view.

As another poster noted, the band goes in to the PMAC after it comes down the hill. I’ve never gone in there and don’t know if it costs (probably so) but I’ve heard others speak well of it.

As for parking, there are many entrepreneurs around the perimeters of campus that will sell you a spot in their yard or parking lot. I have no idea how well that works. Another option is my favorite bar/restaurant - The Pastime. It will be full of Tiger fans and Tiger memorabilia as well as great pizza and cold beer. But they’ll sell you a ride on a bus to the stadium and back ($10 last I heard). I’ve never done it so can’t vouch for how well it works getting out of the stadium but it works great getting there!

P.S. I also agree with the commenter who suggested you avoid Clemson. While the atmosphere will be unbelievable, the heat will be massive

If you’re going to spend money traveling from far away, you should go for full experience of a marquee game. MSU will likely be a day game looking at the SEC schedule that week. The atmosphere won’t be nearly the same level for a day game vs a team like MSU as it would be for a night game vs Clemson, A&M, Bama or Texas

If you use the secondary market for tix, use Seat Geek. Unless LSU has changed, it’s the official site for ticket resales. Your ticket will likely come directly from the school if it says “electronic transfer”. You can also get parking passes there. Most major hotels downtown and Laberge will have shuttles. If you buy a parking pass, make sure you understand the exit flow before you purchase. LSU usually puts this out before the season.


Just a quick suggestion. If you’re not big alcohol drinkers, go easy on game day. Even in October the humidity is oppressive down here.

I went to college in The Basketball Capital of the world but my mother's family has been at LSU in some form or fashion for a hundred years so it became an adopted Alma mater of sorts for me, and I was lucky enough to send my boy to school at LSU. My wife and kids didn't get the LSU love until our son’s freshman year. But one Saturday Night in Death Valley was all it took for them to “get it.” They’re now die-hard fans and will absolutely swear that there is no place in America like Tiger Stadium when it’s rocking. Pick a good game, spend the money, and soak it all in. No matter what it costs, it will be an investment in a memory you’ll never forget.

Well you’re going to need to fix this.

Honestly a day game is pretty mild and you will sweat your nuts off. Night game vs a good sec opponent can be the best atmosphere in sports.

I usually wait until the day off or right before to list tickets I haven’t already sold or given away. This way they end up being used by Tiger fans because it’s too late for visiting fans to make travel arrangements

You are definitely in the wrong place. This activity is sacred at LSU games.

I realize it's been said but it needs to be repeated: If you're going to make the pilgrimage, splurge. It's worth it. Get a ranked, night game. You will absolutely not regret it.

As a 1st timer - don't miss pregame! Be in the stadium at least 30 mins before kickoff. Don't forget to account for lines at the gate. East upper can take a while to get in.
