Is this the thread where we all are suppose to pretend people like George Atiyeh, Greg Cook, Eric Andolsek, Alan Faneca wouldn't have b_tch slapped Art Cantrell in front of his girlfriend.
I can tell you this. They very well may have tried to bitch slap Cantrelle but they best have been ready to get a arse kickin! Just being big doesn’t mean shite! Cantrelle was not only mean as a rattlesnake on a hot August day but he was strong as an Ox and could fight! Might have only been 6’ 200 but trust me here, someone you did not want to frick with!

But he would get back up, again & again.
Did you hear about the time he got back up after being knocked out, and then tried to retaliate with a gun? Yeah, real tough guy.
LINK
Frankly he sounded like a psychotic anus that for what ever reason has found a niche on this board with the annual bad arse Cantrelle sagas.
And by the way this is the guy who put Cantrelle on his arse.

Hey bud no one is saying he was invincible here. Sometimes you get a lucky shot in. I'll go out on a limb here and say that whoever that guy is in that picture which I have no clue, Cantrelle would take him 9/10 all day everyday! And no one likes clicking on a blind link!

Who is that guy?
Just wondering.
I had a relative that played at LSU with Cantrell. He summed it up, “Art is a street fighter”. That’s a skill set not many have, even cops. Don’t condone his actions, but was tough on the field and off.

Art Cantrelle sounds like a thug piece of shite

Maybe Art could stop by this thread and set the record straight.

My favorite story was when Cantrelle was getting married and about 6 or 7 football players showed up at his room to hold him down and shave his head per some kind of ritual. Cantrelle looked at all of them and said
“Y’all go ahead and do this but I see everyone of you that is in this room right now and trust me I will get even with each and every one of you”
They all left the room.

Some guy from the 70’s? If so, what are the true stories on why him?
Kenny Obanion was the most feared in bar fights in the late 70's early 80s. There wasn't a single BR cop that didn't know Kenny Obanion. As a teenager, he would visit his uncle to weight lift together. They couldn't put enough weight on the bars when he squatted weights. He was finally shot and killed after an altercation with his stripper ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend, And if you talk about pure body strength, hard-to-beat former all-state wrestler, LSU running back and former NFL back Victor Jones. Former NFL players can attest to his strenght.

I can tell by the butthurt throughout this thread Cantrell took your lunch money didn’t he? Or likely whipped your dads arse.

Do you call him dadddy?

I don’t know who would have won all the fights but nobody would have bitch slapped Art Cantrell Ns walked away clean. The guy was a fighting legend along the Miss Gulf Coast.
On top of that he was a heck of a football player. He was All State RB in 2 states. He might have been an All American except he played so hard he inflicted injuries on himself.
Now a tuff guy was Piggie Barnes. He once threw Apple Sanders, a 300 plus center out of a second story of one of the Pentagon Bld. The Russian Olympic HW wrestler forfeited to him because of what he did to another wrestler.

Any of those dudes facing Art Cantrelle would have quickly realized they’d been dealt the worst possible hand they could have been dealt.
Eric Andolsek would have beaten Cantrelle's arse.

Nicky was carrying on at Fred's the night LSU lost to Bama in 1987. They started playing Sweet Home Alabama and that pissed off the boys. Hodson, Andelsek, Savoie, Ruffin, et al were there and not too happy. A few fights broke out that night

I used to love watching Nicky Savoie bull through other teams defensive huddles like they weren’t there.

Nicky was a 6th grader in 1987.
